Today we’d like to introduce you to AMP Collective.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Art. Music. People.
Twelve years ago in Palm Springs, during DJ Big D’s 50th birthday celebration, a simple iPod setup among close friends unexpectedly became the beginning of something much bigger.
What started as friends sharing music quickly revealed a deep musical chemistry between DJ Big D and Dayslayer — now known as Albius Negroni. The connection was immediate. The vibe, the transitions, the understanding of rhythm and emotion through music all felt natural and undeniable.
From that moment, The AMP Collective was born.
Together, they collectively created the meaning behind AMP:
Art. Music. People.
More than a name, it became the philosophy and foundation behind everything they do.
Based in Los Angeles, The AMP Collective has spent over a decade building community through House Music culture, blending sound, creativity, and human connection into every experience they curate.
DJ Big D and Albius Negroni come from different corners of the world, bringing together a wide spectrum of musical influences including Soulful House, Deep House, Afro House, Amapiano, Dance Music, and global rhythms. Their sets are rooted in storytelling, vibration, spirituality, groove, and the timeless foundations laid by the legends of House Music before them.
For The AMP Collective, this is more than entertainment — it is a calling.
The duo has become known for creating sonic environments that can shift effortlessly from intimate lounges and rooftop gatherings to day parties, cultural events, and festival-style experiences. Whether playing for a packed dance floor or curating the mood of a room, their intention remains the same:
To move people emotionally through music.
Over the years, The AMP Collective has continued expanding its cultural footprint through signature events, digital platforms, and community-centered experiences.

Art. Music. People.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like any business and creative journey, there have been both highs and lows along the way. House Music, despite its global influence and deep cultural roots, is still often overlooked and misunderstood by many outside the culture.
Through it all, The AMP Collective has remained committed to creating spaces rooted in inclusion, unity, and authentic musical expression.
From the very beginning, we have intentionally encouraged people from marginalized communities to embrace House Music culture — because it is from those very communities that the genre gets its roots.
For us, House Music has always been more than entertainment. It has historically been a space for freedom, healing, creativity, self-expression, and connection. It is a universal language that brings people together regardless of background, status, or circumstance, allowing people to feel seen, heard, and connected through rhythm and soul.
That mission continues to guide everything we do.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The AMP Collective is a Los Angeles-based International House Music DJ duo specializing in Soulful House, Deep House, Afro House, Amapiano, and culturally driven musical experiences. Beyond DJing, we focus on creating environments that bring people together through rhythm, soul, and authentic human connection.
We are known for our BLEND Day Party events, the Blend LA Podcast, and our commitment to preserving and elevating House Music culture while introducing it to new audiences.
What sets us apart is our approach to music selection and atmosphere. Whether we are playing an intimate lounge, rooftop gathering, or festival-style event, we aim to create an emotional experience rather than simply play songs.
What we are most proud of is building an inclusive platform rooted in the true spirit of House Music — welcoming people from all walks of life while honoring the marginalized communities from which the genre was born
What makes you happy?
