Today we’d like to introduce you to Jahnavi Gusani.
Hi Jahnavi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been a deeply creative person, but for a long time I felt disconnected from that side of myself while trying to follow more traditional paths and expectations. Over time, I realized that creativity wasn’t just a hobby for me- it was a huge part of who I am and how I connect with people.
That realization led me to begin exploring content creation through fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and storytelling. What started as casually sharing pieces of my life online slowly evolved into a much bigger journey of self-expression, confidence, and healing. Along the way, I also began exploring creative work behind the scenes through social media management, creative direction, and UGC content.
One of the biggest turning points in my life was moving to New York City and starting over in a completely new environment. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and forced me to grow in ways I never expected. Since then, I’ve been focused on building a life that feels more aligned with who I truly am- creatively, personally, and professionally.
A huge part of my journey has been learning how powerful creativity can be in helping people reconnect with themselves. Whether it’s through fashion, storytelling, beauty, or simply showing up authentically online, I’ve found that self-expression can be incredibly healing- both for myself and for the people who resonate with my work.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges for me has been learning how to fully accept myself and trust my own path, especially while feeling different from the people around me for a long time. There were periods in my life where I struggled deeply with my mental and emotional well-being, and I hit points where I felt disconnected from myself and uncertain about who I wanted to become.
I also think social media can create a lot of pressure to constantly have everything figured out or appear successful all the time. Behind the scenes, I was navigating major life transitions, rebuilding my confidence, and trying to create a life that genuinely felt aligned with me instead of one based on external expectations.
Moving to New York forced me to confront a lot of fears and step into independence in a completely new way. It challenged me emotionally, financially, and creatively, but it also became one of the most transformative experiences of my life.
Looking back, I think those difficult moments ultimately pushed me closer to myself. Creativity became a huge outlet for healing and self-expression, and through that process I learned that growth isn’t always linear. A lot of my work today is rooted in embracing authenticity, trusting yourself, and allowing yourself to evolve instead of staying confined to who you used to be.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work primarily lives at the intersection of fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and storytelling. I create content that blends visual creativity with authenticity, whether that’s through styling, creative direction, video editing, social media content, or sharing more personal reflections through platforms like TikTok and YouTube.
I’m especially drawn to creating content that feels cinematic, emotionally expressive, and visually intentional. A lot of my inspiration comes from music, movement, street style, and the experience of navigating personal growth while evolving creatively in real time. I love experimenting with different aesthetics and finding ways to turn everyday moments into something visually meaningful and emotionally resonant.
Over time, I’ve also explored work behind the scenes through social media management, UGC, and helping brands develop content that feels more authentic and creatively aligned. I think one of the things I’m most proud of is allowing myself to evolve publicly and embrace creativity more fully instead of trying to fit into one specific box.
What sets me apart most is probably the emotional depth behind my work. Even when I’m creating fashion or lifestyle content, I want people to feel something through it- whether that’s confidence, inspiration, self-expression, or simply feeling more connected to themselves.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories was constantly turning everyday things into little creative worlds. I used to take my mom’s dupattas- long colorful scarves traditionally worn with Indian outfits- and drape them around my body while envisioning different outfits, characters, and performances in my head. Music was always a huge part of my life, and I was constantly imagining scenes and stories long before I realized creativity would become such an important part of who I am.
I was also always extremely hands-on and crafty growing up. I loved making jewelry, working with polymer clay, knitting, writing stories, and creating little art projects whenever I could. I think I always had a very vivid inner world, and creating things was one of the places where I felt the happiest and most connected to myself.
Even now, a lot of the work I create still carries that same energy- storytelling, emotion, movement, fashion, and finding beauty in turning imagination into something real.
