Conversations with Jessy Lichter-Maret

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessy Lichter-Maret.

Hi Jessy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Jessy began her career in Massachusetts, where she built a strong foundation working in early childhood education and child development. Her experience supporting young children and families shaped her deep understanding of the importance of early intervention and individualized care during the most formative years of development.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Jessy transitioned into working at a private preschool in Hollywood, where she quickly recognized a growing gap in accessible, relationship-based early intervention services for children and families navigating developmental challenges. Through her work with students, parents, and educators across the LA landscape, she saw firsthand the need for a more collaborative, compassionate, and developmentally informed approach.

Driven by that vision, Jessy founded The Nest LA — a space dedicated to supporting children and families through connection, play, and early intervention services designed to help every child thrive.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a perfectly smooth road, but the journey has been incredibly rewarding. The community has been so receptive to The Nest LA and its mission, which has made the growth of the business feel deeply meaningful. Being able to serve as a trusted resource for children, families, and schools throughout Los Angeles has been one of the most fulfilling parts of the experience. Seeing the impact of early support, collaboration, and connection continue to grow within the community has made every challenge along the way worthwhile.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As the Clinical Director of The Nest LA, I oversee a multidisciplinary practice focused on early intervention, child development, and family support. My work centers around helping young children build foundational skills through a relationship-based and developmentally informed approach, while also supporting parents and schools in creating environments where children can truly thrive.

I specialize in early childhood development, social-emotional growth, school readiness, and collaborative care for children with varying developmental and behavioral needs. Over the years, I’ve become known for creating strong, trusting relationships with families and for taking a highly individualized approach to each child’s care. I believe deeply in meeting children where they are and building support systems that feel empowering, compassionate, and practical for everyone involved.

What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve built at The Nest LA. Watching families feel supported, seeing children gain confidence and connection, and becoming a trusted resource for both parents and schools across Los Angeles has been incredibly meaningful.

What sets me apart is the combination of clinical expertise and genuine collaboration. I’ve always wanted The Nest LA to feel warm, approachable, and deeply connected to the real-life needs of families — not just a place for services, but a true support system. I think that balance of professionalism, empathy, and community-centered care is what people connect with most.

Any big plans?
We’re very excited about the next chapter for The Nest LA as we continue to grow our early intervention programming and expand the ways we support children, families, and schools throughout Los Angeles. One of the biggest developments we’re looking forward to is the opening of our new early intervention program, created in response to the increasing need for intensive, relationship-based support for young children during their most critical developmental years.

The program is designed for young learners ages 2.5–5 and will provide intensive communication, relational, and behavioral support within a nurturing and highly individualized environment. Through a multidisciplinary and play-based approach, the program focuses on helping children strengthen foundational social-emotional, language, behavioral regulation, and school readiness skills while also supporting meaningful peer engagement and connection.

Our new program will operate in focused 12–14 week sessions, allowing our clinical team to develop intentional goals, closely monitor progress, and provide families with collaborative support throughout each stage of their child’s development. Parent coaching is also a core part of the program design, giving families practical tools, guidance, and ongoing support so strategies can be carried over meaningfully into the home and everyday life.

One of the aspects we’re most excited about is that after completing a session, children can transition back into their community preschool environments with stronger foundational skills and greater confidence, allowing both the child and family to continue growing and thriving within their existing school community. Our hope is to not only support children during a critical developmental window, but to help create long-term success and connection within the environments where they learn and belong every day.

As The Nest LA continues to grow, we also look forward to deepening our partnerships with schools and the broader community so we can continue serving as a trusted resource for early childhood development and intervention throughout Los Angeles.
