Daily Inspiration: Meet Melissa Walsh

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Walsh.

Hi Melissa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out as a makeup artist in London and got my first break with a well known music photographer called Peter Anderson. My first job was with a band called The Quireboys who were managed at that time by Sharon Osbourne! From there it was word of mouth and I worked with numerous artists including Depeche Mode, Blondie and Hanson (who I still work with from time to time).

I moved to LA in 2006 to further my career and worked more in entertainment with actors for press and premieres etc.

In 2021 I moved to Nashville where I worked with country musicians and whilst there I started my own glam agency representing artists for hair, makeup, grooming and styling. We are a boutique agency and specialize in celebrity work. I hand pick my artists not just for their amazing skills but also their easy going personalities and professionalism. We are known for being the artists you can rely on for great work, being early and no drama! I moved back to LA September 2025 to expand my agency and network. We have artists available worldwide and try to accommodate all requests big and small.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth, it’s a difficult industry to navigate and you have to get used to rejection, being dropped from a team in an instant and waiting sometimes months for payment. I love what I do though so it comes with the territory. The highs definitely outweigh the lows though! I have traveled the world with clients and seen places I never would have had the opportunity to go to by myself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a makeup artist and groomer and own my own agency for glam artists.

I’m known for doing natural makeup and being very quick! I work a lot with men doing grooming and my clients include Martin Scorsese, Rob Lowe, Stephen Lang, Boots Riley and Michael J. Fox.

What sets me apart is being very quick, reliable and able to go with the flow.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think the fact that I will always try to make it work for my clients. I don’t think any job is too big or small and I treat everyone equally.
