Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Delgado.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a Mexican model agent and scouter, and I’ve been calling New York home for the past seven years. I work with New Icon, an amazing agency originally from Mexico that’s grown to have seven locations across Latin America. Based in our NYC office, I spend my time scouting fresh faces and helping them navigate the fashion world. For me, it’s all about being that link between the incredible talent we have in LatAm and the global stage here in the city

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge has definitely been breaking through as a Latin agency in the most competitive market in the world. We’re not just operating in New York; we’re consistently going head-to-head with the biggest, most legendary names in the industry. Competing for the same campaigns and the same attention as those heritage agencies requires us to work twice as hard to prove that our vision and our talent are just as world-class. It’s about changing the narrative and showing that being a Latin-led agency isn’t a niche—it’s a global powerhouse move

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a model agent and scouter, but I like to think of myself as a bridge between talent and their biggest dreams. I specialize in finding that unique ‘spark’ and placing it on the global stage. What I’m most proud of—and what I think sets us apart—is being a Mexican-led agency in the middle of the world’s most competitive market. We’ve worked incredibly hard to position New Icon right next to the industry’s biggest names, showing that our vision is just as strong as any ‘heritage’ agency in New York.

On a personal level, nothing makes me feel more fulfilled than seeing a model’s life completely change. My team and I don’t just find faces; we build careers. Creating the right strategies to guide them through this intense industry and watching them succeed is what keeps me going. It’s about representing my roots while proving that we belong at the top

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
For me, the most important thing in this industry is taking care of my models as if they were family, because that’s how I was raised. I want to make sure this journey in the industry is safe and fun for every one of them. Also, something my father used to say: never stop being yourself, and the day you stop being who you are, you’ll know that place is no longer for you
