Today we’d like to introduce you to Selin Connor.
Hi Selin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Selin. I am a creative from Istanbul, Turkey, and I have been living in Los Angeles for 8 years now. Before college, I was on Tumblr, doing photo blogs and seeing different sides of the world through social media, and I was so into it. I was always passionate about taking photos, telling stories, building community, and engaging with people all around the world through that online space on Tumblr.
While that was still going on, I studied Urban and Regional Planning, and I wanted to work more creatively in Urban Design. I ended up finding myself working in real estate, doing valuation and advisory. No shame in that, but it was not for me. I always wanted to do creative work related to social media, content creation, and all realms of that.
As Tumblr was slowly dying, I started creating travel content as well as coffee shop and restaurant recommendations in my city on Instagram and on my blog. While I was working in real estate, I also started doing freelance social media management and content creation for food and beverage brands in Istanbul. I was enjoying it so much that it didn’t feel like work.
I knew I needed to make a change for myself, so I decided to quit my real estate job, leave everything behind, and move to Los Angeles 8 years ago. I came here to get my Marketing & Digital Marketing certificate from UCLA so I would have something to apply to corporate jobs with and find a “stable” job while maintaining my visa.
After that, I worked for 6 years in corporate America, doing everything from content creation to social media management, from branding to graphic design, and from email marketing to influencer marketing. I was also freelancing on the side with user-generated content creation.
I realized I needed to change one more thing in my life to feel fully satisfied, so I quit corporate America in 2025 and started my own business, which is a creative agency called Triple S Creative. Since then, I have been the happiest. I have worked with many different types of clients, from wellness to food & beverage to AI.
I am a social media manager who brings content creation, graphic design, and branding to the table. I just love combining all the creative aspects of my skills to help brands achieve their ultimate goals on social media.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Especially leaving everything behind in Turkey and moving across the world without knowing a single soul was the roughest part of my journey. But I can also say it was the most rewarding. Leaving my comfort zone, my family, and my friends for uncertainty was definitely challenging, but now I can say I am so glad I did it.
Being an immigrant, trying to maintain a visa while working toward your dreams without having anyone around you to rely on was, of course, the biggest struggle. The second struggle was deciding to quit my corporate job in the United States. If you were to ask younger me if she wanted to be an entrepreneur, she would have said a straight “no.” Because it is scary and uncertain, especially in a country where you need the most stability.
But I believed in my dreams and in myself, and I knew that even if I failed, I could always go back to corporate life. That would have been the worst-case scenario. So I left my comfort zone once again, and it ended up working out even better than I imagined.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative social media manager. I am not a typical social media manager who only focuses on strategy and numbers. Of course, those are the core foundations, but I combine social media management with creativity, including graphic design, content creation, branding, and videography.
What I am most proud of is being able to speak any brand’s language fluently and brainstorm creatively to produce a strong batch of content. This is what sets me apart from others. I create one month’s worth of content for businesses within one day and deliver the edited content within another day, so businesses do not run out of content while juggling everything else that comes with running a business.
Because I have worked both in corporate America and as a freelancer, I understand both the strategy side and the human side of social media. I know how to create content that not only looks aesthetically strong, but also builds community, trust, and real engagement for brands.
I also think brands appreciate that I make the process feel easy and collaborative. A lot of business owners know they need content, but they feel overwhelmed or do not know how to show up online consistently. My goal is to make them feel supported creatively while helping them stay visible and relevant on social media.
At Triple S Creative, I focus on creating content that feels authentic to the brand instead of forcing trends that do not align with their identity. Whether it is a wellness brand, restaurant, hospitality business, or startup, I love helping businesses find their voice online and turn their audience into a real community.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me through my creative agency, Triple S Creative, where I offer social media management, content creation, branding, graphic design, and creative strategy for businesses that want to build a stronger online presence. I work with a variety of brands, from wellness and hospitality to food & beverage and startups, and I love creating content that feels authentic to each brand’s voice.
I also collaborate with brands on user-generated content, creative campaigns, brand shoots, and social media partnerships. Since I have experience both in strategy and hands-on content creation, I enjoy being involved in the full creative process from brainstorming ideas to execution.
The best way to support me is honestly by engaging with my work, sharing my business with others, and connecting with me online. A lot of my opportunities and clients have come through community and word of mouth, which makes it even more meaningful to me. I always love connecting with other creatives, entrepreneurs, and brands that value storytelling and creativity.
