Today we’d like to introduce you to Cat Lottie.
Hi Cat, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. I started being interested in modeling when I was 15 and have been working towards my career every since. I had gotten accepted into a modeling academy at 17 which I feel really helped prepare me before jumping into the deep end of the industry. I graduated early from high school with the focus towards my career. Within the past year and a half I have had much more progress, especially after moving to Los Angeles in July of last year.
During my childhood I struggled with my mental health which really held me back. Though I’ve been able to overcome those struggles. Currently I’m navigating young adulthood through lots of experiences and lessons to learn.
Recently I’ve been experiencing a lot of success when it comes to my modeling work. Some projects I can’t quite openly speak about yet, though I’m very excited to share about once the time comes. I’ve been diversifying my work to figure out my strong suits, such as exploring acting.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. I’ve faced many obstacles. There’s lots of models who come from very fortunate backgrounds (While I have faced adversities, I still recognize the privilege I’ve had) Establishing yourself as a model while simultaneously supporting yourself by building your own income is not for the weak. I’ve always been a hard worker, which is what it takes.
As well having to learn how to protect yourself in such and industry that is rampant with predators of all sorts is such a monster to have to overcome as well. From scams, creeps, to full blown sex trafficking.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional model. At think point in time I am exploring different areas of modeling. Based on my experience within the industry, I know my look strong for Beauty and Swimwear. Though I have such a passion for editorial.
I’ve been told that I look different in each of my shoots, which I love to hear. It is so important to be able to be a chameleon as a model. The more looks, the more work.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Many don’t know that I can do Martial Arts. I trained throughout my childhood and was one step away from achieving black belt before Covid happened. I’m looking forward to continuing my practice soon.
