Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Sandler.
Hi Alexis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After years of working in a fast-paced corporate job in New York City, I reached a point where I realized I needed a real mental and physical reset. I was burned out, disconnected from my body, and craving a different kind of life—one that felt more grounded, intentional, and aligned with how I actually wanted to feel every day. That experience became the beginning of a major reinvention. When I moved to Los Angeles, I was drawn to the mind-body connection and began exploring healing in a more holistic way. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine resonated with me because it honors the whole person—not just symptoms, but the stress, emotions, lifestyle, and patterns underneath them.
Over time, that personal journey became the foundation for my work. I wanted to create a space where people could slow down, feel heard, and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way. More recently, becoming a mom has shifted my perspective all over again. It has deepened my understanding of how much people, especially women carry, how easy it is to put your own needs last, and how important it is to have support through different seasons of life. Today, my work is rooted in helping people feel more balanced, supported, and at home in their bodies.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the biggest struggles was learning how to slow down after years of living with a very traditional Western, “always-on” mindset—pushing through, staying busy, and measuring success by productivity. It took time to transition from that pace into a more present, grounded way of living and working. But I’m so thankful for where that journey has brought me. Today, I’m able to spend my days doing meaningful work, connecting with patients in a deeper way, and being present with my infant daughter, Aurora. Becoming a mom has made that shift feel even more important and has reminded me that success can also look like presence, connection, and peace.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Healing Elements Acupuncture is rooted in the realities of modern life. I naturally gravitate toward stress and pain management because I know personally how a fast-paced corporate lifestyle can take a toll—not just mentally and emotionally, but physically as well. So many people are moving through life in survival mode, carrying stress in their bodies, and pushing past pain or burnout because they feel like they have to. My goal is to offer a grounded, supportive space where patients can slow down, feel heard, and receive care that helps their body function and heal more effectively.
I also have a special interest in women’s health, especially because I understand how many different roles women are often balancing at once. At the same time, my practice supports patients and families with a wide range of concerns, including internal medicine, pain, stress, sleep, digestion, hormonal health, and overall wellness. What sets my brand apart is that it is practical and realistic. It is not about promising a perfect wellness lifestyle. It is about effective strategies that work within the reality of Western life—busy schedules, demanding jobs, family responsibilities, and real-world stress. I’m most proud that Healing Elements feels approachable, honest, and deeply personal while still being clinically focused and results-driven.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by booking acupuncture treatments at Healing Elements Acupuncture, whether they are looking for support with stress, pain, women’s health, or overall wellness. I view Traditional Chinese Medicine as one powerful tool within a patient’s larger health and wellness toolkit. My goal is never to replace other forms of care, but to work alongside them. I encourage patients to build a support system that may include doctors, chiropractors, therapists, bodyworkers, nutrition professionals, and other healers as needed, so they feel fully supported from multiple angles.
