Today we’d like to introduce you to AJ Hollywood.
Hi AJ, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I can remember, I’ve always been an artist. I can’t think of a time when I wasn’t who I am today.
Art has always and will always be the center and focus of my world and where my heart resides and desires to create.
And it all started in Long Beach California…
I’ve been this artist as young as I can remember; probably since the age of 3. And I can say that art is the reason for my transformational journey/experience and the evolution of who I’ve become.
I embody the energy that allows me to receive the downloads that I get to use as source material for how I transform my visions into true art; leading with a strong message that reflects the values and principles of a real art world.
The response I constantly get from the world in reference to my work; defines the essence of who I am, and why I do what I do so well.
To me, influence is everything that brings beauty to the forefront of our very own existence.
And in order to love what we do: we have to first love who we are. That within itself is the best way to display art; which is through your heart.
So with that energy I just want to continue traveling the world and creating environments for people to connect and engage with my art and influence no matter where they go.
That is what my art reflects- Legacy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road I’m on has been smooth nonetheless. But the challenges I face, and things that are constantly ahead are always life changing. But eventually pushes me to produce my best body of work.
That is a quality that every artist should encourage & embrace for their own personal development in becoming the best version of an artist.
I feel the struggle is where you really find yourself.
I really don’t think I’ve gone through much of anything any other great artist didn’t have to go through personally in their time of becoming something greater than themselves.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a multidisciplinary artist that visually creates art/paintings and compose music. Professionally I do art shows and go around different cities and countries producing street art (murals) and performing.
I do this with the intentions on leaving some sort of impact, or simply giving people something to admire, love, and appreciate when they stop to take a moment to step into my world of creation. And walk away feeling something different they never felt before.
I feel that this is something I am always proud of expressing. It’s definitely serving to my purpose and what God has chose for me to do- And I love it.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success by how I measure my happiness. I feel it’s that simple… Not cliche.
And doing what you love without limitations can bring you much success in anything that you do. That’s where I find peace and the most appreciation at.
As long as I continue loving myself as well as what I do as an artist, I’ll always find ways to define and achieve what I consider to be success.
