Today we’d like to introduce you to Kitty Logic.

Hi Kitty Logic, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got brought into the rave scene back in 2022 by my girlfriend, naomi (Aezeya) who was a dj, when we first started dating. She took me to a techno underground rave one night and them went to pirate studios after to DJ with her friend Marc (who goes by MDJ) after. I was just watching them doing and i was like, “oh you just click the cue button on the beat right?” i tried it out for myself and then it just clicked in my head. i was instating hooked. after that night, i bought my beginners pioneer dj decks and just learned it from the internet.

after learning from the internet and getting pointers from naomi, i was offered the opportunity to dj at a silent disco at station 1640 after started djing for 6 months. since then i’ve just been djing whatever gigs i can get. started from bar gigs, to renegades, to small afters my friends throw, internet live streams, gigs at catch one, etc etc…

eventually, my friend Marc (MDJ) was throwing his own after party. And an idea came to me and naomi that we should start a transgender centric party for my friends. so we asked marc to run the sound and lights for it, and i’ll use my own dj decks and get a venue. we met lydia and elith thru a mutual friend, because they were also trying to start a trans party as well. so one day we just met in the middle of dtla and made plans to start TRANS*CENDENT. we were able to rent out a friend’s basement to throw our first few shows for $150 a night, and i personally invited 50 of my closest friends to come. eventually. overtime, those friends brought their friends, and their friends bought their friends too and it just got bigger and bigger.

with the help of the technofam crew, we eventually moved to a warehouse and became an actual underground rave in a warehouse. over that time i’ve just been doing more and more djing for other raves too. i got better and better and also gained a following from organizing trans*cendent. i got my first big break eventually when SOVO (technofam + incognito) booked me for a show. that booking got the ball rolling in establishing myself as a LA underground local dj in the techno scene. i eventually learned how to produced as well and become a DJ/producer. i recently started a new party SWXCH, that is all inclusive, and more techno and trance centric.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
it has been a lot of hard work and sacrifices. i have lost 5 relationships, including my wife, who i’ve dated for 14 years, and also my long distance girlfriend, who i’ve dated for 4 years among other relationships that have ended due to me focusing solely on doing the ,music thing. it has made it really hard for me to have time for anything else. i don’t have much time for TV, books, movies anymore because i’m just always busy DJing/ producing/ learning/ networking etc. and it was really hard when my dear friend, shay fire passed away recently.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
i think that i like to produce music that comes straight from my heart. i tend to have a sound that is trance techno. It’s still techno end of the day but it has a trance edge to it, because it’s more melodic and try to convey a feeling. i would describe my songs generally are sad songs that are hopeful for the future kind of feeling.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
i think not afraid of just doing it regardless of expectations is what sets me apart. i did music all because it was fun. i had no expectations at all, and i didn’t feel like i was trying to impress anyone either (except maybe my girlfriend naomi lol). but truth to be told i really just did music because it gives me joy in life and i didn’t really care how people would react to it. i was very lucky that some friends seems to like my music and DJ sets.
