Conversations with Eddie Sutheerasak

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Sutheerasak.

Hi Eddie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
We are a group of close friends who are an immigrant that used to work together for a long time and come to the point we have to move to a new step chapter of life. So we used our experiences from the past work to put together a fusion sushi with a twist and unique taste of sushi while still offering a tradition style at a best quality and budget friendly to our customer. We went through a struggle of the shutdown due to covid after we open for 6 months. We tried our best to help our employees. We have to cut some hour in order to keep everyone on the payroll. We received lots of support from Long Beach community that how we survive and get through it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
there were some smooth and struggle. we went through the up and down. Since covid the cost of supple have went up 30-50% we try to maintain the price as much as we could to offer a good qualify of food while not break our customer pocket. We faced a lots of break-in in the past. An with the current economy the business all over has been slow down. We try our best to keep up the market and stay strong in the community

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We grew up in Southeast Asia where the food has a bold and strong flavor. Before opening our own place, we worked in a fast-paced, high-pressure restaurant, so we’re used to busy service and staying calm under pressure.

As an owner, I’ve handled a lot of front-of-house responsibilities, so I really focus on the guest experience — making sure service flows well, guests feel welcomed, and the team stays connected. I’m known for being hands-on and reliable.

What I’m most proud of is building something of my own and creating a place where people feel comfortable coming back to. What sets me apart is that I understand both the food and the hospitality side — I care about quality, but also about how people feel when they walk out the door.

What are your plans for the future?
We recently open another location in Downtown Los Angeles. We hope to keep the business going smooth and strong. We wish we can provide a comfort and reliable for our customers and our employees.
