Daily Inspiration: Meet Aleksandra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aleksandra.

Aleksandra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am originally from Poland. I have decided to make a big move to America at only about 17 years of age. I came to LA to chase my dreams, got recruited to run track for college, my events were 800, 400 and high jump. I finished San Diego State University with BFA in dance , after successful career as a track athlete, part of the waterski and ski teams and honor societies. After college I begun my entertainment journey while still pursuing my Masters in Biotechnology. As a dancer I danced with artists like Justin Timberlake, Toni Braxton, Ricky Martin, SIA and many more. Performing on big stages like Kia Forum or Intuit Dome, as well being featured in music videos. I have also choreographed multiple projects. Few years into my dance journey in LA I also started modeling. I quickly progressed as both a runway and print model, working g with brands like Paul Mitchell , Lululemon and walking the runway in New York and LA fashion weeks.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were many struggles. I have no family here and came at the very young age, without knowing anyone and with zero knowledge of the industry. I had to work hard to make my name and brand known, make connections while working the obstacles of everyday life, managing school and immigration.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have mentioned a lot in my previous answer but just to reiterate; I am a professional dancer, runway model as well as personal trainer and MA student. I connect my disciplines and use my various expertise to enhance my performance and work I deliver.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My advice would be figure out exactly where you wanna be, find people who are already there and learn! Do not try to ask for things right away. Show your support, show up for them, take part in projects and listen. Develop a genuine relationships and blessings will start coming because you will be seen as someone committed , dependent and trustworthy . Those qualities are priceless in the industry. Additionally, try to always bring great energy and enthusiasm, as well as good work ethic.
