Today we’d like to introduce you to Minas Grigoryan.
Hi Minas, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started Aquastar with a simple belief: something as essential as water should still feel pure, elevated, and intentional. For me, Aquastar is not just a bottled water company — it is a brand built around purity, discipline, and a higher daily standard.
I was born in Armenia and later moved to the United States, where I learned very quickly that nothing meaningful is handed to you. That mindset shaped the way I approach business. I have always believed in building something with purpose, patience, and strong attention to detail. Aquastar came from that same mindset.
The idea was to create a premium natural spring water brand that felt clean, modern, and trustworthy from the first impression. I became obsessed with every detail — the source, the bottle, the packaging, the design, the customer experience, and the feeling people get when they see the brand.
A big part of the inspiration also came from thinking about family, health, and the future. As a father, I wanted to build a brand that I would genuinely feel proud giving to my daughter and my family — and something I would feel proud sharing with others as well. That mindset pushed me to care deeply about quality, purity, and creating a product people can trust every day.
Aquastar is natural spring water sourced from Palomar, California, and the mission is to offer people a product that feels pure, thoughtful, and trustworthy in every part of the experience.
Getting here has taken a lot of persistence. Building a beverage brand from the ground up is not easy. There are production challenges, packaging decisions, shipping costs, marketplace requirements, and constant learning curves. But every challenge has made the brand stronger. Each step forced me to improve, refine, and think bigger.
Today, Aquastar is growing as a premium water brand with the slogan “Drink Pure. Live Pure.” To me, that means more than hydration. It represents a lifestyle — choosing better, staying disciplined, and holding yourself to a higher standard. My goal is to continue building Aquastar into a brand people recognize, trust, and feel proud to have in their daily lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Building a beverage brand from the ground up comes with a lot of challenges — from packaging and shipping to production, customer experience, and learning how to grow the brand the right way.
Water is also a heavy product, so logistics and shipping can be difficult at times. There were nights when my family was asleep and I couldn’t sleep because I was thinking about the next step — what to do, how to solve problems, and how to keep moving forward. In those moments, I had to believe in myself, trust the vision, and keep going even when the path was not clear.
Still, every challenge taught me something and pushed me to improve both the brand and myself. I still feel like I’m learning every day — always improving and always looking for ways to make Aquastar better.
We’ve been impressed with Aquastar, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Aquastar is a natural spring water brand created for people who appreciate clean taste, thoughtful design, and a product that feels good to bring into their daily routine. We source our water from natural springs in Palomar, California, and focus on making the experience simple, refreshing, and premium.
For me, Aquastar has always been about more than just putting water in a bottle. It’s about how people feel when they see it, open it, drink it, and share it. I pay close attention to every detail because I want Aquastar to feel honest, clean, and carefully made.
Aquastar is currently available online through Amazon and Walmart, as well as in select local gas stations and stores. What I’m most proud of is seeing the brand go from an idea in my mind to something people can actually enjoy in their everyday lives.
I want readers to know that Aquastar is still growing, but every step is being built with care, purpose, and a long-term vision.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always curious, active, and determined. I liked learning by doing, and I was always the kind of person who wanted to understand things for myself. I also grew up speaking three languages, which gave me a broader perspective on people, culture, and communication from an early age.
Boxing was a big part of my life when I was younger. I trained for 12 years, and it taught me discipline, patience, focus, and how to keep going even when things were difficult.
Looking back, those experiences shaped a lot of who I am today. They taught me to take pride in what I do, stay consistent, and keep improving. I’ve always wanted to build something meaningful, and that mindset became a big part of why I started Aquastar.
