Meet David Gutierrez of Downtown Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Gutierrez.

Hi David , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m WRMBRW (“Warm Brew”)—LA-based DJ/producer pushing minimal, tech, and house with a raw, underground edge. I didn’t wait for opportunities, I built my own—throwing down parties and private events all through out the city.

From bars to clubs and creative art spaces, you name it I probably have done it. The last 3 years I have been focused on building a community with my artist collective called Friends & Strangers, turning random rooms in DTLA into packed, sweaty dance floors full of people who actually get it.

Everything I do is hands-on—curating lineups, running events, building a real community from friends and strangers who come for the music and stay for the energy. I’ve played intimate after-hours spots like our very own F&S Studios and taken that same vibe internationally to places like Tulum. As well as many well known and respected venues and collectives across the city here in Los Angeles.

My sound is deep, stripped, and groove-heavy. Tracks like “Last Forever” and “Comeback” (feat. Léo Ovalle) set the tone, with more on the way. WRMBRW isn’t just music—it’s a movement built from the ground up. With so much more music in the works that’s unreleased and projects I constantly try to expand, like merchandise and creative content.

The journey has just begun and I feel like the best is yet to come. But as always I move with love and respect for the art and the community. We are all just some friends that like to party with strangers after all.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes and no. I believe in life anything you do that you love is going to be hard to fight for. I have had my fare share of doubts and fears but I always strive to power through.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
