Meet Dovy Magician of NYC / Brooklyn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dovy Magician.

Hi Dovy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was about 9 /10 years old my grandmother bought me a magic set for a present since that moment I’ve always wanted to learn the real magic and whenever somebody would offer me to buy a present I would always ask for a different magic set that I didn’t have and whenever I would meet a person that does any kind of tricks even other people would look at them that they might be doing silly tricks I would always ask them to teach me something because you can always learn something from everyone and that’s how I started collecting a lot of knowledge about tricks eventually at a certain point people started paying me to perform after performing for a couple of years I’ve realized that I don’t do magic tricks I create long lasting memories which is way more powerful than just being somebody that goes around fooling people I don’t try to fool people I tried to leave a strong positive impact on them and I use magic tricks to create that positive moment

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
What are the things I’ve struggled a lot with is finding my own character and personality on stage I often used to try to copy other professionals and other magicians I tried talking like them acting like them and Performing like them and what I realized was when I can be myself and develop my own character and personality I have way more fun on stage and the audience enjoys it way more because I come across authentic

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
People know me mostly for being a magician I like to tell people that I specialize in leaving a strong positive impact on people while performing magic tricks what I most proud of is that I had a dream and a vision and I’m able to actually live it what sets me a parts of others is I truly think I don’t treat my magic show as a magic show meaning I don’t just treat it as an hour of entertainment I treated as a Time where memories are created for a lifetime and that is way more powerful than just a hour of entertainment

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I don’t think I ever grew up 😉 lol

I always used to sit in class and play with things I have a wild imagination and once I started learning card tricks I would always sit in class and practice with cards which sometimes got my teachers annoyed but at least it kept me quiet and I didn’t make any trouble I was always interested in learning new things and understanding how things work I remember when I was around 7 years old me and my friends took apart a remote control car that’s when I started understanding how electricity works and we started using the lights and the motors and all the parts for different things
