Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Taul.
Hi Brandon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Deep in the underground since 2004, SaintVII began experimenting with mixing and DJing at local events and parties. He quickly developed a talent for beatmatching and song selection, and soon began playing at larger events and clubs in his area. Saint VII supplies the best in bass. Inspired by artists such as Gridlok, Andy C, Goldie, Noisia, Mefjus, Camo & Crooked, and more.
As his reputation grew, SaintVII began to branch out into other genres of electronic dance music, incorporating elements of House, Breaks, and Dubstep into his sets. He quickly gained a following among fans of underground dance music, and his unique style and energy made him a favorite among audiences around the world.
Today, SaintVII is considered one of the most exciting and innovative DJs in the world of electronic music. With his high-energy sets and cutting-edge productions, he continues to inspire a new generation of music fans and aspiring DJs.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Growing up in Salt Lake City Utah, there were some struggles and hardships but also there was some rewarding adventures. DJing and producing became a passion from the beginning but getting booked wasn’t so easy. Knowing who you know is key to getting anywhere in the DJ world. I quickly became friends with other local DJ’s and producers that were deeper in the scene than I was. They taught me more about public relations and how the “Scene” actually works when it comes to getting booked and getting paid. That being said, I have been paid a handful of times performing at DJ gigs and I’ve played around 60 – 80 local gigs from Salt Lake City to L.A. to Denver.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love 3d designing models and creating something out of nothing with 3d printing. It’s one of the most satisfying hobbies and the most challenging creative outlets that I have. Producing music has become second nature to me and now I teach it to others that want to learn the craft but 3d modeling is something that I acquired on my own.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Patience and practice.
