Exploring Life & Business with Chloe Ray of Two Other Trees Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Ray.

Hi Chloe, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi I’m Chloe!

I am a Director, Actress, Producer, and the head of Two Other Trees Productions. I have a passion for independent filmmaking, and am deeply inspired by the French New Wave, Surrealism, and anything that breaks the traditional mold of storytelling. I love to champion new voices and help get new stories on the big screen!

I just realesed my third proof of concept ‘Creepy AF’ starring Sharlize True (Social Media) Maile Flanagan (Naruto) and Seth Lee (The Accountant) and have been traveling the country with my workplace comedy pilot ‘Noble Homes’ which premiered at the Austin Film Festival in October. We also have a couple feature films in the works, so stay tuned for a year of movie drops from Two Other Trees!

Acting wise- I have two small roles on major shows releasing in the fall! I can’t say much about those yet, but I am thrilled to be doing what I love, and just hope this wave of luck continues!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Last year, I lost a lot of project files to the Eaton Fire — not to mention all my belongings and company assets. We were out of commission for several months and had to cut back our new projects significantly to make time to re-do some of the lost work. This struggle is ongoing, but has allowed us to re-evaluate time, assets, and the projects we choose to approach. It has also taught us immense persistence and commitment to a project, even in the face of challenges that seem impossible to overcome. This challenge very easily could have destroyed our company or left projects to die, but instead, it brought resilience and passion, and we found nuggets of magic in the mess that made for better finished products overall.

We are an independent production company specializing in narrative films. We love to champion new voices and bring unique stories to the screen. We focus on making production possible and accessible for any budget or storyteller, and aim to champion overlooked and underrepresented voices behind the camera.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Los Angeles is the best city in the world. There is nothing better than being surrounded by creativity all the time. From the way people express themselves with their style, to the street art, festivals, and pop-ups. There is always someone to befriend, and something creative to get involved with – just by stepping out your door! I only wish we had a better Metro!
