Story & Lesson Highlights with Ben Bar

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ben Bar. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Ben, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
We have ten pets. 6 Nigerian Dwarf goats, 2 dogs, both Australian herding dogs, and 2 parrots. A green-winged macaw and an eclectus.

Taking care of the critters, watching and interacting with them, is heart-warming and emotionally elevating.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ben Bar. I am co-owner of Allstate HOA Management. We are an association management firm based in Los Angeles covering the greater LA area and nearby cities. Our firm is generally the highest rated company in our field. We cater to all types of communities, and all sizes.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bad communication, pomposity and near-sightedness destroy bonds and friendships. Compassion, understanding, humility and empathy restore.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear of rejection.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
It’s not just today. Smart people get it wrong whenever self-importance and ego interfere. At the end of the day, high intelligence does not guarantee accurate analysis and assessment. Nor does stupidity.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
People.
