We’re looking forward to introducing you to Andres Lerma. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Andres, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Something outside of work that is bringing me joy lately is my fitness journey because I have made progress with my weight loss.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andres Lerma, I’m from Los Angeles, California. An interesting fact about me is that I’m diagnose with autism. I’m an animator and I like to create my own animation projects. I’m currently going to the animation school to learn more about 2d animations and motion graphics. I’m learning more about animations and arts because I want to make short stories about Quetzals. I have my YouTube Channel where I uploaded my short animated films of Quetzy Quetzal that is called Tink Tank Lerma.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationships most shaped to see myself is my parents. They mold me to become independent, respectful, kind, brave and intelligent. My parents would always motivate me to reach my goals and dreams. They always push me to work hard and never give up. They gave me life lessons that will teach me for the world. My parents helped me to become humble and not to brag.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
One kind thing I would say to myself is to be strong. This is the word that I would tell myself because growing up I had challenges due to my disability. I suggest that I have to continue to push myself to achieve my life goals.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends will say that really matters to me is family because they have always been there for me. My family has taught me to respect, to be kind, to work hard, to be myself and to be positive. Another thing that my friends will say that is important to me is my short animated films like Quetzy Quetzal.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
The evening is when I feel most at peace because is the time I’m able to sit down with my family. I’m able to reflect of my day and express myself to my family. Being with my family allows me to feel calm and safe.
