Good morning Prithvi, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Who are you learning from right now?
Right now, I’m learning from my own mistakes. I’ve learnt they are the most direct and honest teachers.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Prithvi, a cinematographer working between Mumbai and Los Angeles. I’ve spent the last few years moving between these two worlds, learning how differently stories are told and produced, and figuring out where I fit within that space.
My work spans feature films, shorts, commercials, and music videos. I’m drawn to stories that feel human and grounded. I care a lot about composition and color, but more than that, I care about what a frame is making you feel. If the image doesn’t serve the emotion, it doesn’t matter how beautiful it is.
What feels unique about my journey is the mix of influences I carry. Working in LA taught me discipline and scale. Working in India keeps me connected to texture, culture, and instinct. I’m still learning, still experimenting, and still making mistakes.
Right now, I’m focused on building meaningful collaborations, experimenting with both digital and film formats, and exploring stories that sit at the intersection of culture, identity, and modern life.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
For me, a lack of transparency and disregard for someone’s time are the fastest ways to damage trust. Respect and clarity are what bring people back together.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I changed my mind about failure itself. I came to understand that it’s not the opposite of success — it’s a part of it.

It’s real, just edited. The hesitation and uncertainty don’t always make it to the surface.

I’m most at peace on set or in a room full of people who are obsessed with making art. That kind of shared focus quiets everything else.
