Inspiring Conversations with Zoey Allen of SVEA Talent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoey Allen.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started as a booking agent a few months after I signed with an agency in Utah, where I was living before moving to LA. Originally, I sought out to start my own career as a talent (acting, singing, modeling) but after learning the agency side of the industry, I knew I wanted to be an agent. After becoming head booking agent at the agency in Utah, I was offered a job as an agent for a new commercial agency in LA called SVEA Talent. Fast forward, I have since become the owner/agent of SVEA Talent. I am currently in the process of opening up a theatrical division and grow my roster!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely has not been a smooth road but anything truly worth it in life is never smooth sailing. When I first started as a booking agent, it was pretty rocky at the agency I worked at. When I moved to LA to become an agent here, both owners pulled out of the company within a year-year 1/2 so I took the reigns of owning the agency. It is one thing to be an agent but an entirely different beast to be an agency owner. I have had to learn a lot on the fly and adjust quickly to change but ultimately am so grateful for my journey and excited for the future of my agency.

As you know, we’re big fans of SVEA Talent. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I own SVEA Talent which is a talent agency here in LA. We currently represent actors for commercial and print jobs. We are also working on launching a film/tv division very soon. What sets SVEA apart from other agencies is our commitment to creating a personalized relationship with each one of our actors. We are a boutique agency that focuses on “quality over quantity”. While other agencies may have larger rosters, I have found that actors often feel “lost in the shuffle” or like they are “just another number” with bigger agencies. I wanted to solve this issue by creating an intimate roster of actors that I can commit my time, knowledge and resources to. We have created this beautiful community where you feel like you’re apart of a family. Just like a family, we are here to support and guide our actors as well as hold them accountable and ensure they are putting in the effort to be successful. Their success is my success and vice-versa.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
You can reach out to us via email at contact@sveatalent.com if you are looking for acting representation. I ask actors to send all their materials such as headshots and acting demo reels as well as their profile links to Casting Networks, Backstage and Actors Access for review.
