Daily Inspiration: Meet Niyah Imani Jean-Pierre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Niyah Imani Jean-Pierre.

Hi Niyah Imani , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

I started really young just loving being in front of the camera and expressing myself. At first it was just fun—taking pictures, trying different looks, and building confidence—but it slowly turned into something I actually wanted to take seriously.

Once I started going to castings and getting booked, everything began to grow from there. I’ve had the chance to walk in New York and LA Fashion Week, work with amazing designers, and be part of projects like PBS Kids Talk About and my first feature film, which made me fall even more in love with acting.

There’s a lot people don’t see, like the waiting, the rejections, and having to stay patient, but those moments really helped me grow and stay focused. I’ve learned how to keep going, believe in myself, and not give up even when things get hard.

Now I’m modeling, acting, and creating content, and I’m really focused on building my brand and inspiring other young girls to go after what they want too. I’m still learning every day, but I’m excited for what’s next and where this journey takes me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been a lot of ups, but also a lot of moments people don’t really see.

One of the biggest challenges is the waiting and not always getting the opportunity you really wanted. You can prepare, show up, and give your best, and still hear “no.” That can be hard, especially at a young age, but it taught me how to not take things personally and just keep going.

Balancing everything has also been a challenge—school, traveling, long days on set or backstage, and still making time to just be a kid. It takes a lot of discipline and support from my family to stay on track.

There are also moments of self-doubt, like wondering if you’re good enough or if you fit what they’re looking for. But over time, I’ve learned to be more confident in who I am and understand that what’s meant for me will be for me.

Every challenge has helped me grow, and honestly, it’s made me stronger, more patient, and more focused on my goals.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?

I’m an actress, model, and youth personality. My work mainly focuses on being in front of the camera and on the runway, whether that’s acting in film and media projects, walking in fashion shows, or creating content that allows me to express my personality and connect with people.

I specialize in bringing confidence, energy, and authenticity to everything I do. On the modeling side, I’ve had the opportunity to walk in major shows like New York Fashion Week and LA Fashion Week, which has helped me grow my presence and experience in the fashion industry. On the acting side, projects like PBS Kids Talk About and my first feature film have helped me develop my storytelling and performance skills.

In 2026, I recently joined the Pretty Girl Influence team as a tween junior reporter, and I’m excited to begin my first assignments, including being on the radio and growing in that space. Being part of a platform that uplifts and empowers young girls is especially meaningful to me because it allows me to use my voice while continuing to learn and improve. I’ve also been honored with a nomination for the National Social Media Awards as Content Creator of the Year, which has been very motivating.

What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come at a young age while continuing to stay consistent and open to growth. I’m also proud of the opportunities I’ve had to represent young girls in a positive way and inspire others to believe in themselves.

What sets me apart is my personality and how I carry myself. I stay true to who I am, and I bring a natural and positive energy into every space I’m in. I focus on growth, consistency, and learning from every opportunity, whether it’s on set, on the runway, or behind the scenes.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?

My advice for finding a mentor or networking is to just be yourself and be open to talking to people. I’ve learned that it’s not really about trying to impress everyone, but more about building real connections and being genuine.

For me, networking works best when I’m just natural in conversations instead of overthinking it. Whether I’m at a show, on set, or at an event, I try to be respectful, friendly, and make a good impression. I also like to observe people I look up to and learn from how they carry themselves and communicate.

I’ve also realized that being consistent with what I do helps people start to recognize you over time. When you keep showing up, staying prepared, and doing your best, people begin to take notice and opportunities can come from that.

Overall, I think it’s about staying true to who you are, being open to learning, and not being afraid to connect with people.
