Inspiring Conversations with Amir Esfahani of Esfahani Construction Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amir Esfahani.

Hi Amir, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up on construction sites. My dad, Marshall, is a builder and has built 100s of home throughout Southern California in his time. I started sweeping a construction site as a kid, and I worked various trades as I learned the business. It has given me an appreciation and an understanding of the ins and outs of the many aspects that go into building a project.

After graduating from the University Of Arizona, I came back home and dove headfirst into the industry I knew so well. I began developing, designing, and building my own projects. Many of the homes I was building were recognized in various media publications. In the process, I had people begin to ask me to build their projects and I added the contracting arm to my business, Esfahani Construction Company.

I am a licensed contractor holding various license classifications. Whether I am building my own development or a client’s dream home, I treat each project as if it were my own home. Building with top notch quality and being on top of every aspect from the first design to final inspection.

For me this is not a business but a passion. I love every aspect of construction and design. I take a very hands on approach to every aspect.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is not always smooth. Finding my own path was a challenge. Having a dad who is well known in the industry, was a huge help but also tough. Many people did not take me seriously. In recent years covid supply chain issues and rising construction costs have provided a lot of ambiguity in my day to day.

I am constantly keeping up with trends and challenging myself to be more innovative. I always want some feature of the homes I build to make people say, “I have never seen that before.”

Making sure every corner of a home has a purpose and plays it’s own part in the home.
