Hi Margaux, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Margaux Gibson is a Los Angeles–based luxury real estate advisor, investor, and creative entrepreneur recognized for merging design sensibility, heritage storytelling, and strategic property marketing within Southern California’s high-end residential market. A licensed real estate agent since 2021 and a seasoned real estate investor since 2011. An innate sales agent & designer, Margaux’s creative journey began at 16 in the fashion industry, encompassing costume design, theater, film, and television. At 17, she was fortunate enough to start working with Sofia Coppola on her clothing line, “Milkfed.” This early experience paved the way for her own label, “MARGAUX,” as well as a career as a fashion stylist and fashion designer. Her passion for design and history culminated in the purchase of the iconic Wallace Neff-designed Singer Mansion, where she continually draws inspiration for her artistic pursuits. Her creative works have garnered recognition in The Hollywood Reporter, fashion magazines, and across popular media, adorning celebrities and musicians alike. Margaux’s experience with demanding Hollywood clients and her adventurous, challenge-seeking nature make her well-suited to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where adaptability and a proactive approach are essential.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I came in to the real estate business in 2021, as a licensed agent. This was at a historically difficult time for real estate in the United States. The U.S. real estate market from 2021–2024 shifted from a pandemic-driven buying frenzy to a supply-constrained “lock-in” market. Prices hit consecutive all-time highs due to low inventory, peaking at a median of over $440,000 in 2024, while sales volume dropped to 30-year lows as high mortgage rates (surpassing 7% in 2023/2024) and limited supply created a severe affordability crisis. There are always shifts in the market and I take them as learning curves and opportunities to grow.

My work centers on positioning properties not simply as transactions, but as curated lifestyle assets—an approach shaped by my background in fashion, visual branding, and production design. I advise buyers, sellers, developers, and investors, bringing an owner-operator perspective informed by my experience as a real estate investor since 2011.

I am a global team member of The Agency RE and serve as an agent within both the brokerage and its development platform, The Agency Development Division, where I specializes in luxury residential sales, development representation, and investment-focused real estate advisory throughout Los Angeles and Southern California. As a sixth-generation Californian, I approache CA real estate through the lens of long-term value, architectural significance, and cultural stewardship. Prior to real estate, I built a career in fashion and costume design, collaborating with creative leaders in film and media and developing a strong visual language that now distinguishes my marketing and branding strategy.
I operate at an intersection of real estate, design, and global lifestyle branding, representing clients seeking discretion, strategic insight, and elevated presentation in today’s international luxury market.
