Rising Stars: Meet Michael Mejia of Fontana, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Mejia.

Hi Michael, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been interested in social media for the last 10+ years beginning with YouTube. About 3 years ago I downloaded Instagram to showcase flashy cars I had that the time that I was renting out on Turo. When that business failed I pivoted and began creating lifestyle content . I noticed that the food content was getting good engagement so I doubled down on that. Eventually I was recognized and that led me to my first gifted collaboration with Nice guys burgers. I thought it was so cool that I could get free food in exchange for creating content. I continued down this path until I eventually began getting paid for my content. Now I create content full time and it’s my main source of income .

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the struggles along the way are staying consistent especially when views and engagement are down. This can be discouraging and make you second guess yourself if you’re even good at what you do. This can also lead to creator fatigue which makes creating content not as fun or enjoyable as it once was. If you ever get to this point it’s ok to take a little break to reset and give your mind and body some rest.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a content creator repoing the inland Empire with specific pride for Fontana. I’m most known for being a Father, a husband, and supporter of small business. I love being able to bring my family along with me in my journey whether that’s trying a new resturaunt, amusement park, or fun experiences.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important factors in my success are being consistent and being noble and fair. I would never want to hurt a business because I know how much work, time and effort it takes in building something . Anybody that’s actually trying to run their own business and be successful knows how difficult it is and I only want to be a benefit to that success and growth. I never want to take away or diminish.
