Today we’d like to introduce you to Sokina Khamrabaeva.
Hi Sokina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been passionate about creating beauty—it started at a very young age. Long before I had any formal training or even understood the industry, I was getting my neighbors ready for their weddings and special events. I didn’t know the techniques, or the rules back then—I only knew that I loved the transformation, the confidence, and the joy it brought to people.
Where I am today is the result of relentless hard work, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for what I do. I believe personality plays a huge role in this industry. Talent is important, but so is the ability to connect with people, to understand their vision, and to make them feel comfortable and confident. Beauty is not just about appearance—it’s about energy, trust, and how someone feels when they look in the mirror.
Over the years, I’ve invested in perfecting my craft, staying open to learning, and evolving with trends while still staying true to my own artistic identity. For me, this career has never been just a job—it’s a calling. Every hair and face I work on is a new story, and being part of someone’s special moment is something I never take for granted.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like any journey worth pursuing, there have been challenges along the way. In the beginning, building trust, gaining recognition, and proving myself in a competitive industry wasn’t easy and still not. There were moments of doubt and times when things didn’t go as planned.
But I’ve always believed that struggles are part of growth. For me, every obstacle has been a lesson rather than a setback. Each challenge shaped me, strengthened my resilience, and pushed me to improve both personally and professionally. I don’t see difficulties as failures—I see them as stepping stones that prepared me for the next level.
Those experiences taught me patience, discipline, and the importance of staying true to my passion, even when the path felt uncertain. In the end, the struggles made the success even more meaningful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work across all areas of hair artistry—editorials, campaigns, commercials, runway shows, and live performances. I love the versatility of my craft. Whether I’m creating a bold, avant-garde look for a fashion story or a refined, polished style for a commercial production, I approach each project with the same level of creativity and precision. For me, hair is not just styling—it’s art, storytelling, and identity.
I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come, especially considering where I started. Coming from Tajikistan, breaking into the international fashion and beauty industry was not an easy path. I can proudly say that I am the only Tajik artist who has reached this level in the global hair industry—and this is only the beginning. Representing my country on an international stage means everything to me. It’s bigger than personal success; it’s about opening doors and showing that talent has no borders.
What sets me apart is my story, my resilience, and the emotional connection I bring to my work. I don’t just style hair—I create experiences. I understand transformation on a deeper level because I’ve lived it myself. My background, my culture, and my journey give my artistry a unique perspective. I combine discipline, strong work ethic, and passion with a distinctive creative vision that reflects both my roots and my global experience.
I believe authenticity is power—and that’s something no one can replicate.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe my journey was built on luck. Of course, there were moments of good timing and opportunities—but I was prepared for them. What people sometimes call “luck” was hard work, consistency, and staying focused on my vision.
I’ve also faced setbacks that could be seen as bad luck, but each one taught me something and made me stronger. In this industry, luck might open a door—but it’s discipline, talent, and perseverance that keep you in the room.
