Meet Roxy Han of Blue Jean Acupuncture

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxy Han.

Hi Roxy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
from our website. Roxy Han had been working in the film and television industry for 6 years before one fateful day when she got an injury that would change her life in the very best way. She was at a Jiu Jitsu convention, zigged when she should have zagged and ended up with a separated AC joint. The acupuncture treatments she received afterward were so effective in reducing pain and speeding healing that she knew she had to discover this medicine’s secrets for herself.

She enrolled at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine at her earliest chance, and graduated with highest honors in 2006. She went on to treat in different acupuncture clinics all over Southern California, incorporating the very best techniques she observed into her own.

Roxy Han founded Elements Total Health in South Pasadena in 2008, an integrative health clinic, where she performed over 40,000 patient visits. She founded Blue Jean Acupuncture in Pasadena in 2015, where she has been treating people with the same high quality level of care she has been providing for over 17 years. Roxy Han is a caring and effective physician, capable of treating many different types of health concerns, especially pain related, hormone, and fertility issues.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Lol of course not, I started my business in 2008 in the middle of a recession. I didn’t know anything about having a business. But I learned as you do, along the way. Your headlights don’t have to light up your entire route for you to make it home in the dark.

And then last year the Altadena fires happened. Our clinic is 1.5 miles away from the burn zone. We had to close for 3 days because the air was too toxic to treat anyone safely even indoors. So many of our patients lost their homes or were displaced. We did volunteer treatments for those affected by the fires. So many patients that we’ve been treating for years had to pause or halt their treatments. Our business dropped by about 50% the first few months after the fire. We’ve slowly been rebuilding since then but it’s been a struggle.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We’re known for having a practical, effective approach to natural medicine. That’s why we’re called Blue Jean Acupuncture. We specialize in pain relief, and fertility work.

What does success mean to you?
I’m really proud of being a a part of the Pasadena community for almost 18 years. We’re a well known business and source that people know they can count on to help them with their health care needs, without surgery, without drugs.
