Daily Inspiration: Meet Amanda Boyle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Boyle.

Hi Amanda, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I became a hairstylist because I’ve always been obsessed with transformation. Not just how someone looks, but how they feel when they leave your chair. There’s something really powerful about that moment when someone sees themselves differently in the mirror.

I started my career assisting and learning everything I possibly could, especially in blonding and extensions. I was always drawn to lived-in color and that effortless, expensive-looking finish. Over time, I built my own clientele by focusing on detail, consistency, and really listening to my clients. I wanted every appointment to feel intentional, not rushed, not transactional, but elevated.

As my confidence grew, so did my vision. I moved into booth rental, started building my personal brand, and became more strategic about how I show up, both in person and online. I treat my business like a brand, not just a job. Social media has played a huge role in that, allowing me to connect with clients who value quality, subtle luxury, and healthy hair.

Today, I specialize in dimensional blonding, seamless extensions, and creating hair that looks just as good three months later as it does on day one. I’m constantly refining my craft and thinking bigger about growth, education, and creating a space that feels elevated but still welcoming.

For me, this career has always been about evolution, not just for my clients, but for myself too. And I feel like I’m just getting started.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. Building a clientele from the ground up is humbling. In the beginning, there are slow weeks, self-doubt, and a lot of moments where you question if you’re good enough or if it’s all going to work out.

One of the biggest challenges for me was shifting from just being “a stylist” to truly running a business. When you move into booth rental, you’re responsible for everything, your schedule, your marketing, your finances, your growth. There’s no safety net. That transition forced me to become more disciplined and more strategic.

Another challenge has been navigating comparison, especially in the age of social media. It’s easy to look around and feel behind. I had to learn to focus on my own lane, refine my own aesthetic, and trust that consistency compounds.

There have also been moments of burnout, long days on my feet, back-to-back transformations, balancing creativity with the business side. But those seasons pushed me to refine my systems, raise my standards, and become more intentional about the type of clientele I attract.

Every obstacle has made me sharper, more confident, and more clear on my vision. Growth in this industry isn’t linear but I’ve learned that resilience, consistency, and belief in yourself will carry you through the slow seasons into the breakthrough ones.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Los Angeles based hairstylist specializing in dimensional blonding, seamless extensions, and lived-in color that grows out beautifully. My goal is always to create hair that feels effortless but elevated and tailored to the individual.

I’m known for my attention to detail and for prioritizing long-term hair health. Every color, placement, and cut is thoughtful, taking into account face shape, lifestyle, and maintenance so my clients feel confident long after they leave the salon.

What truly sets me apart is the connection I build with my clients. I take the time to listen, understand their vision, and create a space where they feel comfortable and seen. For me, it’s never just about the hair, it’s about how someone feels in the chair and when they walk out the door.

I’m most proud of building my brand independently and creating an experience that feels both elevated and personal. At the end of the day, transformation and connection are what inspire me most.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice for someone just starting out is to focus on mastering your craft before chasing quick success. Skill, consistency, and attention to detail will always outlast trends.

I also wish I understood earlier that this career is a business. Learn about branding, finances, client experience, and boundaries from the beginning. The sooner you treat it like a business, the sooner it becomes one.

Don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter ten. Social media can make it feel like everyone is ahead, but growth in this industry takes time. Stay in your lane, refine your aesthetic, and be consistent.

And most importantly, build real relationships with your clients. The connection you create is just as important as the hair you produce. When people feel seen and valued, they come back and they tell their friends.
