Inspiring Conversations with Xiaoxiong Shen of TC Herbs & Health INC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xiaoxiong Shen.

Hi Xiaoxiong, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 1982, I earned his Bachelor’s degree and in 1987 received my Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China. In 1997, and earned Ph.D. in Medical School in Japan. I have received a postdoctoral fellow from Tokyo University School of Medicine in Japan and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine TN. Then, in 2000, I was a research fellow in the Department of Endocrinology at the UCLA School of Medicine, and in 2003 I was a full professor at the University of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Los Angeles. In order to better promote the natural therapy of TCM acupuncture, I established TC herbs & Health Inc., and Shen Clinic in 2007.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Basically, it is doing well. Of course, there are many people who do not understand TCM, or have some prejudice, or even doubt its efficacy. Others think herbs will be bitter and hard to swallow, or acupuncture will hurt, etc.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m one of the outstanding professionals in the field of both eastern and western medicine with over 40 years of clinic experiences. I’m academically distinguished with articles published in more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in the top academic journals and several books, such as American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, American Journal of Physiology and Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He also co-authored and made special contributions to over 5 scientific books. He has invitation lectures in many countries including Japan, China, Singapore, Canada, Europe, and the U.S.
