Rising Stars: Meet Shaquille “Maurice” Hemmans of Duarte California

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaquille “Maurice” Hemmans.

Hi Shaquille “Maurice” , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began in entertainment at the age of 3 years old modeling. My mom took me to modeling agents, who grew an interest in me. However we waited until I was older,12 years old to be exact. To began acting and modeling at Barbizon/ IMTA. Shortly after I began leading praise team at my church every Sunday and realized that singing. Was really my niche and I would love to go further in music and performing. I got accepted to AMDA LA for Musical Theatre major which was a dream come true. For six years I embark on an International tour, as lead vocalist. For London West End production “Thriller Live” Michael Jackson show. Touring Europe, UK, Germany, China, Israel & Africa. To 2025, joining Kanye “Ye” West The Hooligans Choirs as Front Vocalist.

Hemmans Consulting was born during the pandemic. I’ve built relationships with agents and managers over the years. So I took pride in working with new talent and guiding their careers to the best agents and managers in town. We represent ages 6-12 years old in acting and modeling.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Smooth ride? What’s that? lol! Definitely has not been a smooth ride. I’ve certainly been through my ups and downs. Especially trying to make it in the music business. You have to have tough skin. Fortunately for me, I’ve had my mom and brother to help me financially through the years of my music career. We’ve been homeless together but stuck through it all. You have to remain confident and secure in yourself. Don’t take “NO” for an answer. I’ve auditioned for Kanye TWICE! lol.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Shaquille “Maurice” Hemmans. Singer / Songwriter from Duarte California. Hemmans Consulting LLC is a talent consultant firm, that specializes in actors, models and musicians. We have represented kids signed to Top Commerical talent agencies in Los Angels. From Coast To Coast Talent, CAA, Aqua Talent and many more. Currently working with Gospel recording artist & American Idols Finalist “ Roman Collins”. Who will be appearing in the UK Birmingham for the first time March 7th, opening for The Clark Sisters. Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risks are taking that leap of faith and determination. By letting that fuel you to advance to your next stage in life. I’ve worked as a security guard, behavioral specialist, Riteaid, you name it! But taking courage to leave your comfort zone and really go follow your true passion.
