We’re looking forward to introducing you to Vince Remo. Check out our conversation below.
Vince, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Anything creative. But mostly storytelling or the process of film making. From writing, drawing storyboards, casting. Everything about film making I get lost in time and I feel like I find myself every time I do it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a Film Maker who has been blessed with so many talents and skills. Skills such as Music, Illustration, Photography, Animation, Poetry and Video Production. Most of these skills I have turned into a career and have all been used into my last Film ‘Insentient’. I am currently self employed using my talents off of gigs. I am currently working on another short called ‘Exodus’ and working on the feature length version of ‘Insentient’ for which I just finished a 120 page script. The proof of concept short of ‘Insentient’ currently won Best Horror at the Los Angeles Film Awards and got selected for 2 categories at the Indie Short Fest for Best Horror and Best Original Screenplay.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My last and only wife definitely taught me a lot about myself and have changed me a lot. There were so many things about myself that she opened my eyes to. I have improved myself in so many ways because of her.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
My innocence and naivety. I wish I can go back and blindly just jump into things. I try to do that nowadays but sometimes fear gets in the way.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Over confidence in their science and social structure. They like to follow rules. rules that are totally irrelevant and get themselves in a bind and stuck.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I am definitely doing what I was born to do. It was just a matter of me embracing it and believing that it is possible.
