Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Hanno.
Hi Stephanie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I found photography in high school, drawn to it by a quiet desire to hold on to moments I found beautiful. I didn’t yet have the language for what I was doing, I only knew there were things in the world I wanted to savor, preserve, and remember. Photography felt like the most honest way to do that. I didn’t know much in the beginning, but I tried to capture what I could: light, emotion, stillness, connection. At the end of my senior year, I received my first camera, and from that moment on, I truly never put it down. What started as curiosity quickly became devotion. Fast forward nearly ten years later, and I now have the honor of photographing people’s most meaningful moments weddings and elopements, whether they’re held in a quiet backyard or across the world. Photography has become my way of seeing the world more gently, of honoring fleeting moments and the beauty that often goes unnoticed. It has taught me how to slow down, to observe with intention, and to tell stories that feel timeless and true.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing. There have been seasons of doubt, quiet months, and moments where imposter syndrome creeps in, where I question myself, my work, and the path I’ve chosen. Slow seasons can feel heavy, and the uncertainty that comes with them is real. But through every challenge, photography has remained constant. It continues to call me back, reminding me why I started in the first place. Even in the stillness, I’ve learned to trust the process, to grow through the pauses, and to believe in the value of the stories I’m telling. Those slower seasons have taught me patience, and the importance of staying connected to my purpose. They’ve shaped not only the way I photograph, but the way I show up with humility, intention, and a deeper appreciation for every moment I’m invited to document.
As you know, we’re big fans of Stephanie Hanno Photography. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Stephanie Hanno Photography is a photography business specializing in weddings and elopements. What sets me apart is the way I approach each story: with intention, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of how meaningful these moments truly are.
Having experienced both the excitement and uncertainty of the creative journey, I photograph with empathy and care. I don’t simply document the day as it unfolds I pay close attention to the quiet in-between moments, the subtle glances, and the unspoken emotions that often carry the most meaning.
My approach is rooted in connection. I create space for couples to feel present, comfortable, and fully themselves, allowing their love to be captured in a way that feels honest, timeless, and deeply personal. Whether it’s an intimate elopement or a full wedding day, my goal is to preserve your story with warmth, intention, and grace.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my couples place in me to capture one of the most important days of their lives. That trust is something I never take lightly. Every wedding and elopement is different, and I approach each one with fresh eyes and thoughtful care. I take the time to truly understand your story and create an experience that feels effortless, supportive, and uniquely yours so you can be fully present while I preserve the moments that matter most.
I don’t just photograph your day; I preserve how it felt, so your love can be remembered for generations.
