Today we’d like to introduce you to David Saghian.
David, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, growing up in Sherman Oaks before moving to the Westside when I was 14. LA has always felt like home and has played a major role in shaping who I am. I grew up a huge sports fan, and sports were a constant presence in my life, teaching me discipline, competitiveness, and how to push myself. I am also very close with my family, who have had a profound influence on my values, work ethic, and perspective. I am happily married to my wife Rachel, who has been a constant source of support throughout my career.
I attended UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and began my career in finance, starting at Deloitte before moving into investment banking at Park Lane, a sports focused investment bank in Los Angeles. There, I worked on mergers and acquisitions involving professional sports franchises and sports related businesses around the world. That experience gave me a strong foundation in valuation, negotiation, and how high-level deals are structured and executed.
After investment banking, I took an entrepreneurial step and launched my own boutique brokerage, Film With Us, focused on short term film location and event rentals. Building that business from the ground up was a turning point for me and ultimately clarified where my true passion had always been, real estate.
By combining my finance background with my passion for sales, relationships, and deal making, I transitioned into commercial real estate brokerage. I am now 5 years into my brokerage career, have closed over $250 million in real estate transactions, and continue to grow year over year. Real estate brings together everything I enjoy most, strategy, analytics, people, and long-term value creation, and I am excited about where the next chapter leads.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every step has taught me an important lesson. There are highs and lows in every phase, and a lot of hard work that happens behind the scenes. One of the biggest challenges was being honest with myself about what I was truly passionate about and having the courage to pursue it, even when it meant walking away from something more stable.
In real estate sales, you have to be willing to start from zero. That includes giving up a salary, betting on yourself, and building everything from the ground up. Early on, that uncertainty can be uncomfortable, especially when progress isn’t always linear. But those challenges forced me to develop discipline, resilience, and a long-term mindset.
It hasn’t been easy, but the process has taught me the value of continuous improvement. You have to show up every day focused on getting better, learning from setbacks, and staying committed to the bigger picture. That mindset has been just as important as any deal I’ve ever closed.

The Saghian Group is a Los Angeles based real estate investment sales team specializing in multifamily, land, and retail properties throughout Greater LA. We work closely with owners and investors to help them navigate some of the most important decisions around their real estate, whether that is selling, acquiring, or strategically positioning an asset for the future.
What sets us apart is our deep understanding of the Los Angeles market and the nuances across different asset types. Multifamily, land, and retail each require a different approach, and we bring disciplined underwriting, real-time market insight, and a strong network on both the buyer and seller side to every assignment. Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people associate real estate sales with quick wins, but something that might surprise people is how relationship driven and long term focused I am. I genuinely know my clients on a personal level, and they know me beyond just the work as well. I spend far less time thinking about a single transaction and much more time focused on where my clients are headed years down the road and how I can support them along the way. For me, real estate is built on trust, consistency, and real relationships, and that mindset shapes how I advise clients and the opportunities I choose to pursue.
