We recently had the chance to connect with Valerie Salas and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Valerie, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are very Intentional. I wake up without rushing I hydrate and ground myself before the world has access to me. I take a few quiet moments to create my mindset, review my priorities and visualize the woman I’m showing up as that day. Only after I’ve aligned my mind and body do I step into work, creativity or communication.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Valerie, I am an Entrepreneur, A Creative, and Service-Driven Professional who has spent years building Brands Rooted in Transformation and Connection. I’m the Founder of The Blowout Doctor, where beauty meets confidence and storytelling. What makes my work unique is that it’s never just about the external, whether I’m behind the chair or building something new my focus is on how people feel when they leave an experience. I’m currently in a season of expansion, exploring new platforms, new audiences and new ways to merge service, creativity and a positive impact to the community.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself is the one I’ve built with myself. Life has taken me through love, loss, reinvention and rebuilding and each chapter forced me to listen more closely to my intuition, set firmer boundaries and trust my own resilience. Learning to choose myself without guilt changed everything.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
What breaks your heart will sharpen your strength and you’ll survive more than you think. That same Survival will help you Understand others.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that integrity, growth and meaningful connection and self awareness truly matter to me. I care deeply about showing up for my kids, my grandkids, my work, my friends and also my clients because they have become friends. So basically the people I love and I truly care about doing things with Intention rather than for Appearance.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That she lived with intention, loved well and made room for others to rise. She made people feel seen and she never stopped evolving and oh how charismatic she was, not a shy bone in her. She wasn’t afraid to be herself!
