Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Mindell.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a Los Angeles–based content creator, photographer, creative strategist, and marketing director. I’m known for my bright visual style, authentic storytelling, and on-camera presence, and I’ve spent more than a decade shaping the digital landscape through thoughtful, design-driven content and meaningful brand partnerships.
I began my career in LA after an internship at Edelman PR, eventually moving into a marketing role at a leading real estate agency. While managing creative strategy and large-scale events, I started experimenting with social media as a creative outlet, which quickly grew into a full-time career. As my audience expanded, I built a thriving business as a content creator, photographer, and brand partner—collaborating across a wide range of lifestyle categories and making my travel photography available through my shops on Simply Framed and Society6.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with top-tier global brands including Disney, American Express, Meta, Cirque du Soleil, Gillette, West Elm, Ray-Ban, Microsoft, Samsung, Kimpton Hotels, and many others. I’ve also been a proud Dunkin’ brand ambassador since 2016 and starred in a nationwide Pampers commercial alongside John Legend. In addition, I co-collaborate with my wife Kelly on Studio DIY, the lifestyle brand she founded in 2011, which has been a meaningful extension of my work in the creative digital space.
In 2025, after more than a decade of building a successful self-employed career, I took a leap of faith and entered a new chapter by stepping into the role of Director of Marketing at Resident Group. Within the span of just a couple of months, I started a new job and welcomed a new baby at home—an intense, perfectly timed transition that I’m incredibly excited about. I’m energized by the opportunity to bring my dual creator–marketer perspective into a leadership role and can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.
I live in Los Angeles with my wife Kelly, our son Arlo, daughter Louie, and our pup Marzipan.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anyone who tells you it’s been a smooth road is lying. For me, the pandemic, the oversaturation and shifting influencer marketing landscape, along with consolidations of brand partner marketing budgets made it a more challenging last few years.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve always kind of worked in two overlapping worlds. I’m a photographer and content creator and I still actively partner with brands today. I’m represented by an agency now, which helps manage those relationships since I also work a full-time 9 to 5.
I’ve been doing brand work for over a decade and that experience really shaped how I think about storytelling and what actually grabs people’s attention. At this point, I’ve spent enough time inside social and content to have a pretty good instinct for what works and what doesn’t.
In August 2025, I stepped into a full-time role as Director of Marketing at Resident. My focus there is brand, content strategy, and social, and a lot of my job is figuring out how to make creativity consistent. Building structure, systems, and strategy so the brand shows up elevated and intentional without feeling forced.
What I’m most proud of is being able to blend both sides of my career. I didn’t have to stop being a creator to move into leadership, and I think that gives me a really practical point of view. I understand creators, I understand brands, and I know what it takes to actually make things happen.
How do you think about happiness?
My kids, without question. I have an incredibly close bond with my son Arlo. He was an only child for a long time, and that relationship is really special to me.
And then, a few months ago, we welcomed our daughter, Louie, and it honestly just exploded my heart in a way I wasn’t prepared for. Starting my day by getting her out of her bassinet and seeing that huge smile is pure happiness. It immediately puts everything into perspective.
Being a parent has completely reshaped how I think about time, priorities, and what actually matters, and it’s the thing that brings me the most joy and grounding every day.
