Aviana Macias of North East Los Angeles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Aviana Macias and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Aviana, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Going into my third year of owning Stonies and Stoners clothing brand I have been blessed to be recognized and have had the opportunity to have my brand sold in two stores in North east LA area. LA discounts and Maintain Skateshop. My proud moments would be seeing my creation come to life! Then having fun with my children at a photo shoot ! I keep my kids involved in my work anyway I can. As a family we get to create and be part of something we started from scratch. To me that is the biggest reward. I take pride in my brand and for my family’s never ending support.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Aviana Macias. I grew up in North East Los Angeles. I founded Stonies and Stoners in 2023. My brand represents my lifestyle and the Lifestyle of Los Angeles culture. When it comes to the creating process it could take me days or weeks to get the image I want put out exactly right. Every design is then put together by A1 hit ups, a design company which my husband owns. We do everything from vinyl to screen printing. Depending on the look I’m going for.
Stonies and Stoners brand is family based. My family has been the best team and that’s what makes what we do extra special! It starts at home.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I grew up in a single mother household. Almost every memory I have was of my mother getting ready for work. My mom had two or three jobs at a time while I was growing up. I believe watching her work ethic played a strong role in who I am today. I work a full time job while being a mother of three. While also pursuing my dream with my brand. Do I get tired? Was my mom always exhausted? Of course, but the end goal is what is always in sight. Things need to get done and I’m going to make sure they do. My mom taught me that.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I’m sure there are more than a few times I thought of just quitting. One time I can remember was about ten years ago. I was going through a transition with work and things in my personal life. I asked myself if things would ever get better or if I should just ignore my dreams and focus on just getting by. Im not the type to get stuck in a rut, so I sat back and asked God to give me strength. Things happen in life. It’s not meant to be easy. Staying positive, focused, and confident helped to push me through.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would definitely say my kids. My family. That is number one in life.
They would say being Loyal and honest is a big part of how I move. I’m a Taurus, we do not do good with nonsense. Be real. Be good. Be genuine. Not everyone is going to like me, but as long as my heart is pure I can live with that.
My family is irreplaceable and a big reason of why I do what I do. Nothing matters without them.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I would hope that people would say how I never gave up! How I worked hard for all my success, and how I did it from nothing.
I had a vision and passion for what I wanted to share with the world, and that I made my mark. I made that happen. They would be able to say she made her dreams come true while leaving behind her hard work to show for it.
