We recently had the chance to connect with Jackie Aguirre and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Jackie, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I’m absolutely loving leading and growing Work Well Club, my wellness networking community here in Southern California. Each month, we come together to move our bodies, connect, and spark inspiration. Our mission is simple but powerful: to promote balance over burnout. Many of us work in roles that can be draining, and whether you love your job or not, having a community of ambitious, supportive people to turn to for guidance and encouragement is invaluable. Leading this community has given me a deep sense of purpose this year, and I draw on my own career experiences to make that impact meaningful for others.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a communications consultant with my own company, Jackie & Company, bringing over a decade of experience in corporate and internal communications, PR, and social media. Storytelling, branding, and design are my passions, and I’m really excited about some new projects in the works for 2026. I feel so fortunate to collaborate with incredibly talented creators, and Work Well Club constantly introduces me to new, inspiring creatives as well.
I live beachside in Long Beach with my boyfriend and feel deeply connected to my community. I love taking part in local events, meeting neighbors, staying active, and supporting small businesses. Health and wellness are central to my life. Not just yoga or Pilates (though I enjoy both!), but a holistic approach that nourishes mind, body, and soul, which can look different for everyone. I truly believe we can show up as our best selves for others when we feel our best. Spirituality is also core to who I am; I strive to live through the voice of God and His teachings. Prayer grounds me and gives me hope for the future. As a Cancer, I’m naturally deep and driven by purpose and connection, which are at the heart of everything I do.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Having spent so many years in corporate America, it’s easy to get caught up in the collective thinking and creativity of the companies you work for. I’ll never regret any of my experiences, but before that, I was always fiercely curious, creative, and unafraid. As we climb the corporate ladder, there are moments, or people, that make us second-guess that spark, whether we let them or not. Now, I’m grateful to have that confidence fully back.
Those experiences taught me a lot about who I am and what I stand for. For many of us, our jobs and the work we do are deeply tied to our sense of self-worth, but too often, we find ourselves in roles that aren’t aligned with who we are. Instead of jumping at every opportunity, pause and ask yourself: Is this truly what I want? Does this role give me what I need to succeed? Keep asking yourself that question, over and over. You own your career, your growth, and your personal brand.
Always work hard and always fight for yourself.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I love the saying, “Fail Forward.” It’s hard to remember sometimes, especially when what we’re experiencing feels like failure, but the truth is, there’s no real failure. Every experience is a lesson, and if we use those lessons well, we grow stronger. I tend to see most “failures” as moments of misalignment. Whether it’s a relationship or a job that didn’t fit, it’s a stepping stone to get you where you need to be.
In my last role, I felt unaligned, and it made me question whether I was any good at what I love: storytelling. But in reality, it was just a situation I didn’t enjoy and an unhealthy environment, and that’s okay. Just because you’re a lawyer, a writer, or a doctor doesn’t mean you need to love or excel at every single role in your field. Life pulls us toward what we truly enjoy, and that’s where our energy and creativity thrive.
When you start second-guessing yourself, lean on the people who really see you. Sometimes, we need a little reminder to get back on our feet. That’s exactly why I started Work Well Club, to create a space where people always feel supported on their career and life paths.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m passionate about helping people feel empowered to find alignment in their careers and supported as they do it. I want to change the narrative in corporate America, showing companies that prioritizing employee well-being isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s smart business. People work harder and more creatively when they feel respected, seen, and supported.
I plan to make this vision a reality by continuing to grow our community and hosting events that embody these values. I’m also excited to start a podcast in the near future, where I’ll speak with leaders who are already doing this well, sharing their insights and inspiring others to follow suit.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m prioritizing myself and the people I love, that’s the Cancer in me shining through! I cherish being at home, near the ocean, and doing the things that truly nourish my soul.
