The idea for Slumber Squad OC was born at my niece’s birthday party, when I saw the pure joy a simple teepee sleepover setup brought to the kids. That night, I couldn’t stop thinking about how special it felt—and I knew I wanted to bring that same magic to other families. That’s when Slumber Squad OC came to life!

A year and a half later, we’ve grown into a thriving business—booked nearly every weekend and expanding our team with talented new stylists. What started as a small idea has turned into something so much bigger: a way to help families celebrate life’s special moments without the stress.

I’ve since partnered with my sister, who runs Slumber Squad AZ, and together we’re taking the next big step—franchising Slumber Squad. Our mission is simple: to spread joy, creativity, and connection through beautifully designed, stress-free celebrations. From cozy teepees to unforgettable themed experiences, we’re passionate about helping families create the kind of childhood memories that last a lifetime

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes it has been a smooth road. Started out slower than I would have liked, but once we started getting noticed, it took off and it’s been great.

Slumber Squad OC is a luxury teepee party experience that brings ordinary celebrations into extraordinary, memory-making moments. We specialize in creating beautifully themed teepee setups designed for birthdays, bridal showers, girls’ nights and “just because” gatherings where comfort and creativity come together at our client’s home or event space.
Our work is centered on curated design, stylish décor, and a seamless setup experience. Each teepee arrangement includes themed accessories, cozy bedding, ambient lighting, and personalized touches that make every event feel unique and thoughtfully crafted. We’re known for our meticulous attention to detail, our ability to tailor each setup to a theme or vision, and our commitment to creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

What truly sets us apart is the experience we deliver. We don’t just decorate a space—we elevate the entire party. From the moment guests walk in, they’re met with a magical, photo-worthy environment that invites connection, fun, and relaxation.

Today, Slumber Squad OC is my passion and creative outlet. I love leading our amazing team, collaborating with families, and bringing magical celebrations to life. Watching this little idea grow into a thriving business has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you’re just starting out in this business, my biggest piece of advice is to start small but dream big. You don’t need to have everything figured out or invest in every theme right away. Focus on creating a few beautiful setups, give your clients an amazing experience, and let your reputation grow from there.

Stay consistent, even when it’s slow in the beginning. Every party is an opportunity to learn, improve, and build your brand. Take photos, ask for reviews, and post your work — people love seeing your creativity come to life.

Don’t compare yourself to others. Every business has its own pace and personality, and your uniqueness is what will make you stand out. Build genuine relationships with your clients, respond quickly, and go the extra mile — word of mouth is the most powerful form of marketing in this industry.

And finally, remember why you started. This business is about bringing joy, connection, and a little bit of magic into people’s homes. When you stay focused on that, success always follows.
