Today we’d like to introduce you to Fatim Bahh.
Hi Fatim, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Guinea, West Africa. Thanks to my mother and her determination to give me and my 2 siblings a better future, I move to the United State at 18 years old, right after high school.
I first landed in NYC with no English knowledge, I only spoke French and Sosso ( a dialect with Guinea). As and immigrant in a foreign country, I learned English by going to ESL classes. After two years in NYC, I decided to move to California as the weather was more suitable for what I grow-up in.
I have always been passionate about Fashion, Beauty and People in general, therefore I naturally ended studying Fashion Design / Merchandising and Social Work at California State University, Los Angeles. Where I receive both diplomats in Fashion and Social Work as well as worked in both fields. As a fashion lover since in Africa, it was a dream to build relationships and opportunities Fashion Industry, specially in the wholesale/distribution sectors. After several years of working and building relationships I was presented a great opportunity to own my business in Fashion Wholesale Industry that I couldn’t missed. My Showroom “The Bahh Collective INC” we sale / distribute European clothing to better specialty boutiques across the United states.
As a women, a mother and an immigrant I know resilience meant. Growing up in these environments at a very young age, taught me to dream big but also to work harder than most to create opportunities rather than wait for them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From my experience, there are no smooth road in building a business or building anything that would allows you to grow. As it’s a constant trial and error.
I stated The Bahh Collective Inc, after 15 years of working in the Fashion Industry and to these day, I still have few bumped on the road. Having a strong and dedicated team is probably the most challenging part of this industry, you have to know and understand what your team need but also what the business need to grow. Very often, those two hardly go together without persistence and hard-work.
Also, we work with very accomplished boutiques that have been in the business for very very long time, so you have to listen to your clients, know what they really need rather than suggesting what you think they need.
All these are challenges that I have to overcome each season, and prospecting new clients which ultimately lead to business growth.
We’ve been impressed with The Bahh Collective INC., but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Bahh Collective Inc. is a full-service Women’s and Men’s Advanced Contemporary Showroom specializing in wholesale sales, brand development, and consulting. We sale/distribute to better specialty boutiques across the United States.

Through hands-on merchandising and development support, we tailor each brand’s strategy to maximize growth within each and every target market.
We travel to all major trade shows and visit as many stores as possible to bring our brands where they need to placed.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I have always worked hard and placed myself for opportunities, therefore lucks that I got, I created the opportunities for them. I believe to get lucky is to be prepare for what you know you want and go for it.
My brands are very established and I am blessed to have the relationship we have. We have build an incredible success for years and to continue doing so in the current challenging market is a blessing.
My luck in life came from believing in myself and being around friends and family who always believe in my potentials.
