Good morning Aviana And The Pure Root, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
You know what, I recently had to admit that I secretly desire fame. My thing as an artist has always been about global impact, raising the vibration, changing people’s lives for the better, etc. But I thought damn, underneath all of those things, that are very much a part of me and why I do what I do, there was still this realization that I also have been chasing fame. What an embarrassing thing to admit lol. But you know what, there are a lot of positive things that I can do for the world with increased recognition, I’m just saying. And what would happen if I stopped chasing it? It would probably come a lot quicker and easier haha. Maybe I would finally be in a place of just being.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I go by the name Aviana And The Pure Root. I’m an artist, singer-songwriter, actress, creative producer and business owner. I’ve been doing music since around 2014. I started singing at open mics and other random performance spaces while living in Paris for a few months. This time spent in Paris is also what inspired my artist name, “the pure root.” There is a cool story behind this. 2018 is when I put out my first single, “Good Morning, Come Noon” followed by my first EP PROPHECY in 2020. This summer I put out my second EP, Love Spells, which is also accompanied by a 3-part music video/short film project that I spent over two years working on. I creatively produced and creatively directed the entire project and shot it between Accra, Ghana, Venice and Malibu, California with three different production teams. I’m now currently wrapping up the Love Spells Tour- my last show at the famous Viper Room on December 5th in Hollywood, California. I’ll be on the main stage and I’m pretty excited about it. I’m walking in the footsteps of a lot of greats before me. On the side, I am the owner of the health and wellness company, Live While Living by Aviana. I sell herbal teas, facilitate meditations and will soon be producing other natural health products.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was free. I was super unique, lively and kind of weird. I was a silly girl who laughed often and really didn’t fit in with the crowd. I was Aviana, to my core.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I nearly gave up most of 2024 and all of 2025 lol. I had a lot of performances last year and was in the middle of completing my Love Spells project. It was a huge undertaking. Managing the money, still fundraising, getting myself and my assistant to Ghana for the second video-It was just a lot. I was loving it, but also getting pretty burnt out due to things that were happening in my life aside from music. And then 2025, I woke up everyday feeling like, what am I doing this for? My life was met with such challenges this year, it really depleted my creative energy in a way that I haven’t seen since I decided to make music my career choice. It’s the most disconnected I’ve ever felt from music. It’s taken a lot to reflect on my ‘why’ and to find my confidence again. I’ve had to hold on tight to my soul and to my vision to carry on.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I was really committed to the completion of my Love Spells project. When I have big visions like that in my life, I will work til no end, just to make sure I finish what I started. I believed and still believe in the art that I created so much. I was pulled by the vision, by something bigger than me.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me with a smile on my face, lots of laughter, a person with a bright light that brings healing to those around her, and a star who changed the world through her art.
