Jacqueline McGinnis Winn of Beverly Hills on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jacqueline McGinnis Winn. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Now this is an interesting question. Most mornings I’m trying to decide if my first drink should be coffee or tea! lol But, let me tell you this, the very first thing I do is talk with god and after that talk, I find that
I am more equip to handle my day! Then, I feed my three Exotic Bull dogs and then walk them. After
that I catch the news headlines for the day. Now, I’m ready officially ready to start my day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
For the readers that don’t know who I am, my name is Jacqueline McGinnis Winn. Author, Filmmaker,
Mother and an activist for equality and civil rights.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
Man, I love this question, because it gives me yet another opportunity to tell my momma, thank you!
Thank you for being the only mirror in my life, that taught me early in life, about work ethics. Growing up in a single parent home in the projects of San Francisco California. We always had more than enough. I saw my mother go to work everyday, to take great care of me and my sister Patty. I learned very early on, that if you don’t work, you probably wont eat. Lol

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
You know, there were many times I did give up on some things. But as I grew older and wiser, I learned about for fortitude. I learned that it is ok to fail sometimes in life, but you pick urself back up and begin again. I guess that is why I tatted “Never stop dreaming” on my right arm.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
You guys are funny with this one. Lol With me, what you see is what you get. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve, and that has hurt me I think over the years. But, I’m learning to wear bigger sleeves now. Lol

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Oh this one is easy guys! I am definitely doing what I wanna do. But I wish I could also had become a lawyer, then a supreme court justice and still make great movies.
