Meet Xio Arleen in Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xio Arleen.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to work for myself. I remember as a child always playing with my sister that we both owned our own markets. We sold each other stickers and candy, lol. My mother had two businesses so I think I get this side of her. I had many business ideas growing up but my creative side leads me to the design world. Then, as the internet became more popular, it led me to merge some of my passions: photography, design and blogging.

I went to school for graphic design and marketing. Once I graduated, I started working as a graphic designer for fashion and cosmetic brands. It didn’t take too long to realize that I wanted to apply everything I had learned in my previous jobs and start something of my own. I started sharing on Instagram, later decided that creating a blog was so exciting, so I tried it and loved it.

Soon enough, I saw the business side of all this and started my own business: xioarleenagency.com, helping brands by providing social media content. With all my knowledge of design, photography, blogging and social media, this was the right thing to do. I still have a lot to learn and sometimes I really don’t know how I ended up here but I believe life is about taking risks. You’ll never know how far you can go if you don’t give it a try. I am not saying it’s not scary, because for me it was. Especially not knowing all the answers. My advice is to surround yourself with other dreamers who support you and will push you to do your best.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not at all! Some of the struggles were doing things wrong because I just didn’t feel like asking people or searching online. There are sometimes where you feel you already know the answer but it’s a big world out there and it’s best to ask someone who knows or get a variety of opinions before making your decision.

Xio Arleen – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company is a social media and design agency which helps brands by providing social media content, influencers, graphic design etc. I am also a blogger and social media influencer myself so I get the best of both worlds… or many worlds. Lol!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
This is an interesting question because I believe success is measured very differently for each person. I believe success is when you achieve what you were once afraid of or thought you couldn’t do. Success is when you feel happy with your outcome. You don’t have to have made a million dollars to be considered successful. If you feel happy with your accomplishments, I believe that is a success.
