Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Monica Blanco of Los Angeles, CA

Monica Blanco shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Monica, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I’m up around 5 a.m. to enjoy quiet, intentional time before the world wakes. I make a warm cup of coffee or tea and spend about 20 minutes in reflection and meditation, breathwork, gratitude, and a quick check-in with my body. That pause helps me recenter and decide where my energy will create the most impact for myself, my family, and my clients.

I follow with a light breakfast and review my top three priorities for the day. If my schedule allows, I’ll catch an early Pilates class to lengthen, strengthen, and get my circulation moving. It’s my favorite way to align mind and body.

Those first 90 minutes are about clarity and care: fueling myself, setting a calm, focused tone, and choosing how I want to show up. When I honor that ritual, I show up to my meetings and trainings more present, creative, and solution-oriented for the people I serve.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Monica Blanco, Osmosis Beauty’s Account Executive for Los Angeles and, most recently, the Las Vegas region. My work centers on a holistic medical philosophy, treating root causes, honoring the barrier, and supporting the skin’s natural repair. I collaborate with estheticians, doctors, and spa owners to integrate this approach, building programs that drive real results and sustainable revenue.

Osmosis is unique because healing is the strategy. We prioritize innovative, physiology-honoring formulas and education that elevate both outcomes and client experience. I lead new business development, account growth, and strategic planning for hotel/resort spas, med spas, wellness clinics, and plastic-surgery practices.

Beyond the title, I’m a proud mom of two estheticians and now a new grandma. Legacy matters to me. I’m here to help professionals grow thriving, wellness-led businesses that truly serve their communities.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My daughters have been my greatest influence. I became a mother young, and that experience crystallized my purpose: to raise loving, strong, independent women. I kept learning and evolving so they could see what growth looks like in real time.

It truly takes a village, and I’m grateful for my family’s steady support. Today, I’m so proud to watch my girls walk their own paths, ones they’ve filled with love, purpose, and success.

My roots and culture, our traditions, our warmth, anchor me. They’ve shaped how I show up: with resilience, gratitude, and a commitment to lead with love.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back most was disappointing the people I love. For a long time, I measured my choices against others’ expectations. Over time, I learned that the people who truly matter want you to walk your own path.

They cheer for your joy, not your perfection. I also realized that caring for others begins with caring for myself. Rest, boundaries, and alignment aren’t selfish; they’re foundational. When I honor what makes me genuinely happy and whole, I show up stronger for everyone around me.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The cultural value I protect above all is love and connection with my family. Grounded in my roots and culture, I honor a legacy built on family first, integrity, hard work, and the traditions that keep us close, always mindful of the sacrifices past generations made so we could thrive, and I’m committed to teaching these values so they continue to grow from one generation to the next.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes, I always give my all even when no one is watching. That’s who I am. I clap for myself, and I hold myself to a standard of integrity: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I don’t act with the expectation of praise or return; I act from the heart. I’m not perfect, and some days aren’t at 100%, but I consistently do the work and try to lead by example.
