We recently had the chance to connect with Andrew Braggins and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Have you stood up for someone when it cost you something?
Every single day. There is a lot of injustice in the world, especially in 2025 and unfortunately, being kind or standing in defense of those that cannot defend themselves isn’t the popular choice right now. I cannot, in good conscience, watch bullies do their thing so I don’t allow it whenever possible. It’s brought me death threats and negative reviews on both my companies, but that’s not going to stop me from helping the helpless.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Andrew Braggins. I started my first company, AF Braggins Weddings & Events in 1999 and my second company, Braggins Adventures in 2022. Both have always been family run businesses. My event company seeks to provide budget minded event and production services throughout Southern California while Braggins Adventures is a travel vlog leaning towards family budget travel and food.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Definitely my wife, Alyssa. She has been more supportive of me than I am of myself. We met in 2007 and got married in 2015 so she’s been in my life for awhile and continues to encourage the potential she sees in me every single day, even on the days I don’t realize it’s there.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
After 2 years of running Braggins Adventures and not seeing money or subscribers coming in, I was close to dropping the project. I am so happy we decided to stick with it because it’s making some cash now, not enough to retire on or anything, but it’s something and we’re getting mostly positive engagement. We love hearing from viewers about how our content helped them plan their trip.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
For better or worse, yes. It often gets me in trouble but I am one of the bluntest people and I certainly say what I mean, be it online or in person.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Trying to change the bad in the world. I would simply ignore it. That may be selfish, but I think with 10 years left, it’s OK to be selfish.
