Today we’d like to introduce you to Garik Khachanyan.
Hi Garik, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
What started as a few freelance projects years ago slowly grew into something much bigger. I founded Rocket Systems with a small team and a simple mission — to build software that actually makes people’s lives easier. We didn’t have investors or fancy offices back then, just a shared belief that great products come from empathy and persistence.
Over time, we built platforms that began making a real difference — like PuzzleTrip, which started as a local travel tech idea in Armenia and is now connecting over 200 travel agencies across countries. Seeing small travel agents suddenly able to sell globally, to compete with big names, was a powerful moment for me. That’s when I realized technology isn’t just code — it’s empowerment.
Later came AI assistants and industry tools like Flyfrom and Inflow CRM, born from the same belief that software should feel personal, intuitive, and even a bit human.
Today, Rocket Systems has grown far beyond what I imagined in the early days. We now have a U.S. branch, amazing clients, and a growing ecosystem of our own products — but what keeps me going hasn’t changed. It’s still that same excitement for solving real problems and helping others dream bigger through technology.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not — and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to be. Every step has come with its own set of challenges.
In the early days, the hardest part was simply getting people to believe in the vision. When you’re starting from a small country like Armenia and trying to build products for the global market, there’s always skepticism — from investors, partners, and sometimes even from yourself.
There were times we ran out of resources, times when clients disappeared mid-project, and moments when I questioned if it was all worth it. Building a team from scratch, managing remote projects across time zones, and keeping the quality high while growing fast — those were tough lessons.
But every challenge taught me something — about leadership, patience, and resilience. The most important lesson I learned is that momentum matters more than perfection. You just keep building, improving, and showing up. Eventually, the world starts to notice.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Rocket Systems, we build software that feels human. We’re a full-cycle development company — meaning we take ideas from concept to launch — but what really defines us isn’t the code, it’s the purpose behind it.
We specialize in custom software and AI-powered platforms, especially in industries like travel, logistics, and insurance, where digital transformation often lags behind.
What sets us apart is our mindset. We don’t see ourselves as just a service provider — we build partnerships, not projects. Every product we create carries a bit of our DNA: clarity, empathy, and innovation.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about LA is its energy and diversity — everyone here is creating something, and that spirit is inspiring. It’s a city that makes you believe anything is possible.
What I like least is probably the pace and noise — it can be overwhelming at times. But that’s also what makes LA exciting — it constantly pushes you to grow.
