We’re looking forward to introducing you to Ana Lerdo. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Ana , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
I would definitely say my mindset. I used to be a very negative person. I Had victim mentality and I always thought that life was happening to me instead of for me. It’s been a process but thanks to God and having grace with myself each day. I now get to wake up everyday knowing everything will be ok and I have a chance to be better than I was yesterday. I now have a very positive outlook on life and can quiet the noise of the world around me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ana. I am a floral and event florist. My brand is now called Florvessa previously known as Daydreamflorals. I am a Dreamer first gen Latina. I’ve always had a passion for floral design. Started my business back in 2021 because I needed something for myself. At the time I started I had lost myself in motherhood and had so much anxiety and depression. Four years later, I have found my spark and no longer have anxiety or depression. I can honestly say my business played a huge roll in helping me become the woman I am today. I often share my story in hopes to inspire others to start their own business and love themselves a little more.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The over-giving me. The woman who put everything and everyone else before herself. The one who felt she was too much and undeserving of certain things. The woman who believed she wasn’t enough. That part of me served her purpose . I still find aloy of joy in helping others however I make sure my needs are met first.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me more resilience than success ever could. It has taught me that I can overcome difficult situations. It has taught me that I have the power to choose to show up regardless of all the pain. Suffering has taught me that no matter what is thrown my way I can overcome anything because I know God is always there. Suffering has taught me to appreciate even the smallest things, I used to take for granted. Suffering taught me to have more empathy for others.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely, At times I may act different around certain people it just depends how safe I feel around them. I have posted myself crying on social media so many times all real, not for attention or validation, especially not for sympathy but in hopes others can relate and not feel so alone.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand that the only way you can truly be truly happy is by really learning to love yourself and be happy with what you have. I understand that true happiness is something you create. You cannot depend your happiness on other people.
