Exploring Life & Business with Lizzie Noble Mistretta of Lizzie Noble Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzie Noble Mistretta.

Hi Lizzie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and my first career chapter was all about politics. I worked in political fundraising and planned events for presidential campaigns. It was a lot of motorcades, security details, and boring suits, but I did find it fascinating. When Joe Biden won, I packed up and moved to Washington, D.C., where I handled events for the Vice President and, every so often, the White House. Not your average nine-to-five.

But here’s the twist: the more events I planned, the more I realized what lit me up wasn’t the politics, it was the people. I loved the energy of creating moments, the connections that came out of it, and yes, the chance to flex my creative side. So I launched Lizzie Noble Events, and suddenly I was in a whole new world: weddings and personal celebrations. I immediately fell in love with it, getting to know my clients on a deeper level, dreaming up designs, and bringing those visions to life was more rewarding than I ever imagined.

After a while of being bicoastal, I knew I wanted to really focus my career on a place where my creativity could be limitless and where my over-the-top personality could be at home. California was the obvious choice. I mean, sunshine, ocean views, and a culture that embraces big ideas and bold personalities? Yes, please. Here, I get to design weddings and parties that are vibrant, joyful, and a little extra, just the way I like them.

Now I’ve officially made the move full-time, and I couldn’t be more excited. California is where I get to pour every ounce of myself into my clients’ stories, creating events that feel deeply personal, wildly creative, and completely unforgettable. Around here, “too much” isn’t a warning, it’s a compliment, and that’s exactly how I like to plan and to live my life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve been really fortunate, and overall it’s been an incredible journey. For a while, being bicoastal was amazing, I got to build relationships on both coasts, grow my business in D.C. and California, and soak up the best of both worlds. But I won’t sugarcoat it: it was also exhausting! Living out of a suitcase, constantly on the go, and never fully rooted anywhere can wear you down.

Eventually I realized that as exciting as the bicoastal life looked, it was starting to hold me back. Splitting myself in half meant I couldn’t fully plant roots or become truly ingrained in the community I wanted to serve most: Southern California. Once I made the decision to focus here full-time, everything shifted. I finally had the space and energy to grow my business in bigger, better, more intentional ways, and it’s been the most rewarding decision I could have made.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
If you want a fun, fabulous, and bold celebration, I’m your girl. I design, plan and produce personal events of all kinds, with a special focus on weddings, but really… I do it all. From birthdays to retirement parties to baby showers, if there’s a reason to celebrate, I’m there to make it unforgettable.

My specialty is amping up the creativity, and I am known for events that aren’t just beautiful, but a total blast. Think whimsical details, memorable guest experiences, and celebrations that push boundaries instead of playing it safe.

Whether it’s an intimate micro-wedding bursting with color or a grand, monochromatic soirée, my brain immediately goes to: how can we make this extraordinary? How can we surprise the guests? How can we add another layer of creativity that makes people say “wow” instead of just “that was nice”?

But what really sets me apart? My personality. Overflowing creativity is one thing, but I also bring a fun, laid-back vibe to the planning process. I know planning an event can feel overwhelming, but with me, it’s anything but stressful. We make it fun! Whether it’s while sipping martinis or playing a round of golf, I meet my clients where they are and turn the planning process into something they actually look forward to. It’s not just about picking linens or flowers, it’s about laughing, connecting, and creating something magical together.

And what I really want your readers to know is this: I want to be your go-to planner for life’s biggest moments. When you think of Lizzie Noble Events, I want you to feel confident that your celebration will be fabulously stunning, totally unique, and flawlessly executed, and that you’ll enjoy every step of getting there. Beyond that, I hope my clients walk away knowing they’ve found someone they can count on, time and time again, to bring their families’ milestones to life in unforgettable ways.

Because at the end of the day, I don’t do ordinary. I do extraordinary, celebrations that reflect you, elevated with my signature mix of bold design, thoughtful detail, and just the right dash of over-the-top fun.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Absolutely, though maybe not the ones you’d expect. I actually have an artistic background, so I’m constantly pulling inspiration from what other creatives are doing in all kinds of fields. Fashion, cooking, interior design, art galleries, you name it. I can’t get enough.

I’m always flipping through fashion magazines for color and texture ideas, drooling over cookbooks for the way chefs play with presentation, or wandering through house tours and design shows to see how spaces come alive. Even street art stops me in my tracks, the boldness, the unexpected pops of creativity, the way it transforms something ordinary into something extraordinary.

So while I love a good wedding magazine now and then, my real spark comes from those other worlds of artistry. That cross-pollination is what keeps my work fresh, fun, and a little unexpected.
