Meet Kerina Wells of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerina Wells.

Hi Kerina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My comedic journey began very early in my life, I’ve always been naturally funny and I found using my humor was a better way to express topics or thoughts I had to ppl who were not to receptive to my directness. However in 2019 I decided I would step out on faith and try to become a stand up comedian because I was over my corporate job. Went to an open mic at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood did pretty well and decided comedy was my true calling and here I am 6 years later doing what I love.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No not at all, but there is always gonna be some obstacles in the way of progress. I had typical growing pains in the beginning learning how to write jokes, setting up punchlines, constantly booking shows that do not pay for experience which can lead to some financial stress. And constant competition with your peers there is always a new comic in the game everyday.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a stand-up comedian, writer, and all-around creative hustler. I make people laugh through relatable observations about life, culture, and the randomness of human behavior. My style is a mix of raw humor, quick wit, and personal stories that are way funnier than they should be. I specialize in taking everyday situations that everyone can relate to And finding the humor in them. I’m known for keeping it real—no gimmicks, just me and the truth with a little twist of humor. I’m most proud of my ability to connect with an audience. my authenticity is what sets me apart I’m not out here trying to fit into some mold or chase trends. I’m just being me.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I’ve read a few books that have helped me settle into who I want be as a comedian. The Four Agreements,Think & Grow rich and the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. I’ve had the pleasure of being a regular on Earthquakes , Quakes House on SiriusXM lol radio to help with my timing as well as learn from veteran comics in the game.
