Aidar, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When was the last time you felt true joy?
True joy I felt last time when we submitted our short film for the 48HFP contest. We were 57 seconds away from failing, but we did not. Our team was able to meet all the task’s criteria. We did not win, but we did a great job as a team and gained valuable experience.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Aidar Mukhametzhanov. My origin is Kazakhstan, and it’s been a long time since I’ve been pursuing my acting career. I have completed my Master’s of Fine Arts in the Los Angeles branch of OCU this year. We are currently working with my team on a short film project. It is a mysterious drama with elements of action and comedy. We are planning to apply the film to the Cannes Film Festival, fingers crossed. Also, this Fall, I am starting my second year of the Master’s program, which takes place in London. I am super excited about it.
Since my last interview, I have grown more as an artist, producer, writer, and director.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Everyone is different on a set. A wrong word or an attitude might ignite a fire, a fire you don’t see at the moment, but it might harm you later. We have to be flexible enough not to break when life is testing us. Trust, respect for those you work with, and dedication to your craft can restore and heal you.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There were a couple of points in my life where I was pretty close to the breaking point, but fortunately, I was flexible enough to go through the obstacles.
Mental and physical flexibility should be an integral part of your life, I think.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I always have my final opinion and decision after someone suggests anything.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Being single I guess 🙂
