Hi Chris, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I work nights, and I’m a musician; nothing about my day seems to be normal!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Shout out to Voyage for having me! My name’s Chris Kennedy & I play guitar and write for Los Angeles nu-core band Fatalist. We formed about a year ago out of the ashes of our previous band when we realized we had all evolved from that style. By tapping into our modern influences, we’ve been able to really come together over music we love. Since then, we’ve released 2 singles, Double Down & Ew, both of which you can check out anywhere you stream music!
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I don’t think I’ve ever been attracted to being who someone else wants me to be, but it’s when I started playing guitar that I truly found something I was passionate about.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
The pandemic was definitely a time in my life where I ( alnost ) accepted I might never be in a band or play shows again, but soon as that part of our lives were over I’ve been able to accomplish more than I ever dreamed of.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
I really hope so. I try to be genuine & honest with everyone I meet. I’m really just a goofball that plays guitar and make sure I express gratitude to anyone who listens to Fatalist & comes to shows.
